This M&E Design and Build Contractor deliver projects within the Rail, Highways, Power Generation, Airports and Water Industries.

As a result of growth they are seeking a Head of Electrical Engineering .

The Head of Electrical Engineering will lead, manage, and develop all aspects of the company’s Electrical Engineering capability.

This will include the further development of an Electrical Project Engineering team & design function that will provide support for construction, operations and maintenance teams across multiple industry sectors

The successful candidate will have experience of working on Infrastructure Projects in sectors such as Railways, Airports, Highways, Power Generation or Water

They will have extensive experience of low and high voltage electrical design (up to 33kV level) inline with all current standards.

They will be able to demonstrate experience in designing systems such as Lighting, LV distribution, CMS - sizing and layout, Earthing and bonding, UPS, Switchboards/LVAC, VSD’s ,Control systems (including DCS, PLC, SCADA and BMS) They will also be familiar with HAZID, HAZOP and HAZCON.

This is a key management role requiring the person to lead , manage & mentor the organisations Electrical Engineering team . This means team management experience is essential .

  • Defining briefs, scopes of work, and lead bid proposals.
  • Successfully manage time and budgets to key project milestones and programmes.
  • Work closely with teams in the UK and overseas to deliver integrated design solutions.
  • Setting quality assurance standards in design.
  • Grow, develop and manage mechanical engineering capability within the practice.

What you can bring:
  • Chartered or Fellow Mechanical Engineer.
  • Experience in owning and leading design delivery, including multidisciplinary design.
  • Comprehensive knowledge in mechanical equipment, such as pumps, blowers, screens and chemical dosing plant as well as an deep understanding of current UK design standards and working practices.
  • Proven as a strong technical leader in the multidisciplinary delivery.
  • A winning work mentality drive to expand AtkinsRéalis' client portfolio.
