*Pay Rate - £12.43 an hour (Up to £4.54 an hour after successful completion of 3 month probation period)*

What you'll be doing
The Machine Operator will work in partnership with Line Support Operators, Hygiene Operatives, Shift Managers and members of the Engineering team to ensure the safe and efficient running of operational assets.
- Machinery/asset troubleshooting, condition monitoring and maintenance.
- Resolve mechanical and procedural issues.
- Completion and sign off of quality documentation.
- Adherence to good manufacturing practices.
- Improve quality and line efficiencies by means of interpretation of production plans through knowledge and understanding of product, equipment, planning and manning (training will be provided).
- Consider health, safety, environmental and quality issues and their implications.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude to training and personal development.
- Checking of critical control points for product safety and quality control points and responsible for all corrective actions.
What we're looking for
- Good understanding of both spoken & written English. You will also have strong attention to detail and good organisational skills.
- Experience troubleshooting and maintenance on Factory machinery is required.
- Experience working within a Food Manufacturer environment is preferred but not essential.
- Able to work both day shift and night shift as this role will involve shifts alternating after each shift.

Days - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 6am-6pm (after 6 weeks rotates to Thursday, Friday, Saturday for a further 6 weeks)
Pay rates (Over time is after 36 hours a week x1.25)
Day shift - £14.94 an hour (Rises to £5.36 once hit required skill level)

We have been serving our customers out of our Selby site since 1914. We produce more than 160 million units per year across 600 different product lines for customers such as Morrisons, Tesco & Asda.
This role operates within defined procedures, plans, budgets and programmes. The day to day work is assigned by a manager or supervisor. Duties in this role include:
- Ensure the efficient running of the SMI and any associated equipment; (logopak,spice capper ,top tagger , video, pallet stacking)
- To troubleshoot and resolve minor issues (mechanical and procedural)
- To liaise with Area Process Leaders, Line Coordinator, Engineers and Shift Managers
- Ensure the correct glass and caps are on the line;
- Ensure the efficient running of the Capper, this includes assisting in or completing a capper changeover when required;
- Consider quality, health and safety issues and the implications at all times;
- Ensure that you work to "Right First Time" ethos;
- Trouble shoot and maintain efficiencies with mechanical and procedural understanding;
- Work along side QA;
- Completing data capture;
- Resolving minor issues, mechanical and procedural;
- Mentoring and assisting with the training of new staff.

+ To be able to complete accurate weighing & recording of operational scrap.
+ Scrap recording, asset care sheets, shift logbook, changeover sheets.
+ Should have a basic understanding of the use of simple hand tools with a mechanical aptitude.
**Experience Required:**
+ Working in a Grinding, CNC, Press, Heat treatment environment essential.
+ Setting & fault-finding experience essential
+ Some level of mechanical engineering apprenticeship preferred but not essential.
+ Forklift truck licence preferred but not essential,
+ Previously worked in an environment of continuous improvement and lean activities.
**Length of training required**
6-10 weeks basic, then on going to development on all tooling and machines which should take up to 12 months dependant on experience. Attending internal and external training courses as required.
