NSS PLUS LTD-NeuroSupport services are currently recruiting Support Workers and Healthcare Assistants  with a background of Brain Injury and Mental health experience to support services users with an acquired Brain Injury. Our service aims to support rehabilitation and in enabling people to optimise independence and quality of life.

We are looking for psychology graduates,support Workers and Healthcare Assistants  or suitable candidates  who would be willing to support people both within their home environment and also willing to provide support in helping our clients access the community. We are looking for candidates that are confident with working independently and providing empirical feedback where necessary.

Job Title:  Male Therapy Assistant
Location:  Nottingham, NG17
Hourly Rate:  £12.50-£14 per hour depending on experience.
Driver Essential?  Yes
Gender Preference: This role is open to Male applicants only.

Days & Hours:  

Every other Saturday, 11am to 4-5pm

About you-Essential Experience:

Acquired Brain Injury support experience essential. An interest in football would also be beneficial.

About the Role

Responsible for managing an Occupational Therapy team, ensuring that children, young people, and families in need of potential housing adaptations or re-housing support, receive high quality assessment and relevant support and intervention, identifying and developing solutions to meet needs.  

Supporting the Service Manager/Head of Service in the continual development, delivery and review of the Occupational Therapy services for children and young people, ensuring that access to own housing and facilities are maximised and that appropriate recommendations are made to 3rd party bodies to enable this to happen.  

Responsible for ensuring that all relevant County policies and procedures are adhered to and concerns are raised in accordance with these policies.  

Responsible for effective management of the team’s budget and recommendations for spending of other public funds (Disabled Facilities Grants (DFG). Deferred Interest Loans and DFG top up funding.

Provide Occupational Therapy advice relating to housing adaptations to other members of staff and provide lead OT role for Children's Housing OT service, advise OCC on matters relating to service provision and also provide professional advice to external agencies in relation to Children's housing adaptations.

Salary: £24,185.55 per annum

What you'll have as a Rehabilitation Assistant:

  • A passion for care
  • Previous experience in care is desirable, full training will be provided
  • Must be able to support service users with all activities of daily living such as washing, dressing, personal care and moving and handling.
  • Flexible, professional, and positive approach.
  • Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS

The service is committed to helping every person they support feel safe, happy, empowered enabling them to live the best life possible.

What you'll be working:

  • On a rota basis
  • Working every other weekend

What you'll have as a Rehabilitation Assistant:

  • Previous UK care experience
  • A valid UK diriving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Willingness to learn and develop
  • Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS
