Job Description
As a Senior Quality Control Inspector, you will be instrumental in upholding our stringent quality standards throughout the production process. You will perform detailed inspections and tests on raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure they meet all specified requirements and regulatory standards. Your keen eye for detail and commitment to quality will be paramount.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive inspections and measurements of incoming raw materials, components, and finished products using various precision instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMMs).
- Develop and implement quality control procedures and test methods in collaboration with the engineering and production teams.
- Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and quality standards to verify product conformity.
- Document inspection results accurately, identifying non-conforming products and initiating appropriate corrective actions.
- Perform root cause analysis for quality defects and recommend process improvements to prevent recurrence.
- Train and mentor junior QC inspectors on inspection techniques, quality standards, and equipment usage.
- Participate in internal and external audits to ensure compliance with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Collaborate with production personnel to address quality issues on the shop floor and implement immediate solutions.
- Maintain calibration records for all quality control equipment.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of quality processes and systems.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; further technical qualification or certification in Quality Control is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in quality control inspection within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in using a wide range of inspection tools and equipment, including CMM operation.
- Strong understanding of quality management systems, such as ISO 9001.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and guide others.
- Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) concepts.
- Experience in specific manufacturing sectors (e.g., automotive, aerospace, medical devices) is a plus.
