- Assure compliance with quality systems manufacturing procedures, ensuring standards are consistently met.
- Prioritise and lead problem solving among manufacturing engineering and technicians; establish review cadence for problem solving feedback.
- Lead hiring activity with the manufacturing department; assess skills gaps, manage approvals and draft job descriptions of new positions.
- Train, develop and mentor staff.
- Create and implement efficient production plans to maximise labour and fulfil customer demands.

- Represent the manufacturing function in S&OP reviews.

- Driving licence.

- Appreciation of challenges experienced during scaling‑up operations, and proven experience of overcoming challenges.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Manufacturing Planner will liaison between Material Planning and Material Control Team to facilitate the production schedule while efficiently balancing work center capacities and available resources while striving to minimize inventory levels and meet customer delivery dates.
- The Manufacturing Planner will interface with other disciplines including Master Planning, Material Control, Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Development and Program Management to fully understand customer needs, internal capabilities and other factors to ensure continuous optimal execution of the production schedule.
- The Manufacturing Planner will ensure that the execution of the production schedule enables on-time delivery to customers based on required ship dates indicated on sales orders.
- The Master Planner will participate in the review of new jobs to ensure accuracy prior to releasing to the production floor.
- The Manufacturing Planner will participate and/or lead meetings with internal and external stakeholders as needed to convey/retrieve relevant information.
- The Manufacturing Planner will document and/or analyze key data including production, downtime, inventory, shipments and job completion.
- The Manufacturing Planner will work with Engineering and shop personnel to maintain accuracy of Routing data including operational sequence, setup time and run time.
- The Manufacturing Planner will consistently reduce and eliminate constraints and barriers to enable improved workflow, increased scheduling efficiency and reduced cost.
- The Manufacturing Planner will release work jackets to the Manufacturing Coordination Team in a timely fashion, ensuring that all necessary materials and sub assemblies are available to complete the necessary work.
- The Manufacturing Planner will receive completed work jackets from the Manufacturing Control Team and disposition accordingly, advising necessary parties to prepare shipment documentation and package finished goods for shipment.
- The Manufacturing Planner will complete other duties as assigned.
- Professional Conduct: The Manufacturing Planner will demonstrate responsibility and accountability for creating a professional, safe, and clean environment evidenced by: being at work on time to perform assigned duties, following the policies of Granite State Manufacturing, always wearing safety glasses in designated areas, maintaining a neat and orderly work area, and following safety practices to prevent errors.
- Travel: Travel between GSM Facilities may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, one year of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite.
- Advanced MS Excel skills (Statistical analysis to uncover patterns/trends), create charts from data tables, create formulas including VLookup, create and work with Pivot Tables.
- Experience using ERP systems (ECI M1 is a plus).
- Ability to understand complex manufacturing processes using multi-level BOMs and Routings.
- Knowledge of material and capacity planning, forecasting, and navigating complex BOMs and Routings.
- Knowledge of general accounting, production assembly procedures, techniques, and tooling.
- Ability to define root cause and implement/sustain corrective actions.
- Advanced oral and written communication skills.

Role OverviewWe are seeking a motivated and skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. - Process & Equipment Improvement: Recommend enhancements to manufacturing equipment and processes, including ROI analysis and collaboration with finance when required.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, quality, and operations teams to provide technical input for internal reviews and customer engagements.
- Tooling & Workholding: Define tooling requirements during product introduction and assist with workholding design for various processes.
- ERP Management: Maintain product structures in ERP systems (BOMs, routings) and liaise with sub-contractors on procurement specifications.
- Degree, HNC, or equivalent experience in an engineering discipline.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a track record of driving continuous improvement.
- CNC programming experience (Turning, Boring, Milling, ideally 5‑axis Mill/Turn).
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, particularly with aluminium, titanium, and Inconel (Milling, Turning, Boring, EDM, Wire cutting).
- Proficiency with Solid Edge, Edge Cam, and Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with Fanuc / Siemens controls for Turning and Boring, and Heidenhain / Siemens controls for Milling.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience across both CNC Turning/Vertical Turning and CNC Milling.
