**What you'll do:**
- Develops and maintains robust, cost efficient manufacturing processes and product structures consistent with lean manufacturing practices.
- Must be mindful of process and test capabilities and recognize organizational core competencies.
- Ensures root cause and failure analysis is performed as required.
- Leads cost-out events and promotes culture of continuous improvement.
- Applies lean manufacturing techniques as means to eliminate waste and deliver products to customer's expectations.
- Implements methods and practices to reduce variation.
- Develops team's ability to understand source(s) of variation and identify impact of tolerance stacks in assemblies by applying Six Sigma Design and Development strategies.
- Understands application of SPC and gage R&R.
- Participates in concurrent engineering efforts and critical design reviews to minimize product development costs and maximize useful life of products.
- Conducts Design for Manufacturing and value engineering initiatives as applicable.
- Develops work breakdown structures as a tool to develop cost estimates.
- Participates in new product development projects using ProLaunch as a tool to articulate deliverables and a vehicle to commit to schedules
- Coordinates manufacturing liaison/s for products from inception through shipment to customer.
- Develops and integrates new processes and methodologies as to provide competitive advantages for the business.
- Recommends Capital Appropriation Requests (including payback and net present value analysis) for acquisition of equipment to support emerging and existing technologies.
- Trains associates as required.
**Qualifications:**
- Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline
- Degree in Six Sigma or similar subject.
**Skills:**
- Detailed knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques - i.e. value stream mapping, one piece flow, etc.
- Understanding of Six Sigma concepts and tools and where they relate to minimizing process / product variability - i.e. regression analysis, design of experiments, hypothesis testing, etc. Ensuring they are deployed appropriately
- Thorough understanding of problem-solving methodologies used in determining root cause and formulating corrective action(s) - i.e. thought maps, 8D, root cause analysis, Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis, Gage R & R, control charts, Pareto charts, etc.
- Proficiency in various software applications - i.e. Computer Aided Design, Computer Aided Manufacturing, MS Office suite, MiniTab, etc.
- Knowledge of manufacturing principles and technical specifications to support facilities competencies - i.e. metal cutting, tool design, injection molding, welding, soldering, etc.
- Ability to lead cross-functional process improvement teams
Advantageous:
- Detailed knowledge of engineering design and product reliability concepts as to facilitate analysis of fluid dynamics, thermal dynamics, electronic circuits, etc.
- Understanding of ProLaunch.
- Knowledge of industry and customer specific quality processes (i.e., ISO9001, AS9100 etc).
- Knowledge of product and end user application/specifications, including product testing requirements. (design/process interface).

The individual will be expected to support New Product and Process Introduction with first time build and appropriate documentations, support our current product portfolio with cost-out, yield improvements and daily operational assistance & legacy product with the ability to draw on similar process and product experiences.
A Manufacturing Engineering Technician will be expected to teach, train and mentor others on all aspects of their chosen discipline, this is an excellent opportunity for someone aspiring to further develop into a Manufacturing Engineering.

Key responsibilities
- Working under the guidance of the ME teams actively support operations with the manufacture of product.
- The ability to set & operate equipment will a high level of confidence.
- Generate work instruction sheets and conduct any appropriate training
- Check accuracy of parts using appropriate measurement tools
- Conduct root cause and implement corrective action to rectify errors.
- Obtain & maintain "A Stamp" Approval status for relevant equipment and processes
- Knowledge and application of lean principles/tools and actively participate in Kaizen events
- Work on own initiative and resolve any issues or problems to company specific procedures
- The ability to develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods.
- Ensure all training responsibilities are current, relevant and teams are trained and confident with deployment
**Qualifications:**
Apprentice Qualified with ONC/ HNC preferred engineering qualification or equivalent.
**Skills:**
IPC-A-610 and/or J-STD-001 Certified Trainer (or similar)
- Current expertise in setting and operating relevant equipment
- Active experience in performing operational tasks.
- Conversant with Manufacturing Measurement Techniques- using appropriate measurement equipment e.g. Digital callipers, micrometer use of thread checking equipment.
- Ability to Read and interpret Engineering Drawings, with a practical working understanding of Geometric Tolerancing (use of geometric symbols).
- Knowledge & understanding of electro-mechanical assemblies
- Problem solving & fault finding/analysis within manufacturing environment
- RCCA analysis & implementation
- Knowledge & understanding of brushed DC motors advantageous
- Knowledge & understanding of engineering assembly techniques

**What you'll do:**
**Manufacturing Team Manager** will be responsible for overseeing and leading all activities associated with manufacturing and production of deliverable product to meet customer expectations within a defined production area. He/ she will be monitoring and managing hourly and salaried resources in the assignment of work responsibilities, development, and alignment of resources to load. Additionally, this leader will be responsible for continuous improvement in production, quality, and safety while utilizing the framework of the Eaton Business System (EBS) and the Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF).
**Job Responsibilities** :
- Driving continuous improvement and application through the use of EBS, BOS, CIF, and HPWTs.
- Being responsible for implementation of Lean activities to eliminate waste opportunities of key processes.
- Achieving key BOS metrics including TRCR, Productive Utilization, On-Time Delivery, First Pass Yield and DPPM.
- Being effective on management of plant assets through leadership of maintenance and facilities resources.
- Being responsible for the implementation of MESH to achieve improvement in year over year safety performance measures.
- Being responsible for driving and developing team members as well as providing oversight and coaching to other team members.
