My client is looking for a proactive, highly organised, and hands-on Manufacturing Project Manager to oversee the delivery of machine projects from conception to completion.
This is an exciting opportunity for a driven professional with a strong background in both project management and engineering within machine building. A solid understanding of commercial project management principles, combined with mechanical engineering expertise, is essential.
 
The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, capable of managing and coordinating complex projects with multiple stakeholders and work packages while also taking a hands-on approach when working with Engineering and Production teams.
 
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the successful delivery of complex machine build projects, working collaboratively across multi-disciplinary teams.
- Manage all project phases, from sales handover through to machine completion and installation.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, meeting client expectations.
- Provide regular updates to project stakeholders, delivering detailed reports as needed.
- Develop strong relationships with clients and internal/external project teams to ensure seamless coordination.
- Oversee project team outputs, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.
- Work closely with the production team, providing hands-on support during machine builds where required.
- Collate, distribute, and manage all project documentation.
- Ensure all CE documentation is completed, alongside other regulatory requirements such as UL and UKCA.
- Collaborate with the QHSE Manager to conduct thorough risk assessments for each project.
- Oversee the collation and management of customer documentation packages.
- Maintain accurate job logs and records within Epicor.
- Manage risk and issue logs effectively.
- Assist departmental managers with resource planning and allocation.
- Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and process documents for role-related tasks.
- Travel internationally as required for project delivery.
 
The Candidate
Experience in commercial project management within an engineering environment.
Hands-on engineering or technical experience in machine building.
Proficiency in CAD systems (preferably AutoCAD, Inventor, and Vault).
Strong knowledge of project management tools and methodologies.
Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
Experience working with ERP/MRP systems (Epicor preferred).
Project management qualification such as PRINCE2 is desirable.
Engineering qualification preferred.

The successful candidate will have at least 5 years’ relevant experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment supported by strong hands-on engineering skills and a passion for continuous improvement. They will possess excellent time management and prioritization skills in conjunction with excellent communication and influencing skills developed through the delivery of cross functional projects and the engagement of stakeholders. **What will your typical day look like?**
+ Control of process documentation, PFMEAs, Control plan's, Process instruction's, etc.

+ Experience with FMEA (Failure Mode Effects Analysis), Kaizen/A3 (continuous improvement and problem solving) process improvement, and Poka Yoke (error proofing) techniques

At LEX Diagnostics , we’re not just making consumables – we’re helping doctors and patients get answers faster, right when they’re needed most.
As a Manufacturing Technician , you’ll play a hands-on role in producing the cartridge consumables that power our breakthrough diagnostics system. You’ll be working with a close-knit team on the manufacturing line, using your practical skills and experience with production equipment to keep quality high and output steady.
What you’ll be doing:
- Assembling consumables using machinery, presses, and welding equipment
- Carrying out practical, hands-on tasks to keep production moving smoothly
- Checking builds meet quality and safety standards during and after assembly
- Logging work accurately to keep production records up to date
- Spotting issues early, raising them quickly, and suggesting improvements
- Taking ownership of your work and seeing the real-world impact as products move closer to launch
(Current hours: 09:00–17:30. Moving to shift patterns of 06:00–14:00 and 14:00–22:00 as we expand.)
Requirements
Requirements – What we’re looking for:
- Practical, hands-on experience in a manufacturing or production line role
- Skilled in using assembly machinery, presses, or welders (training provided where needed)
- Comfortable following standard processes while adapting when things change
- Experience working in cleanroom environments (ISO 13485 / cGMP a plus)
- Familiar with Quality Management Systems (QMS)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A proactive, can-do attitude – quick to step in when challenges arise

Stevenage sheet metal manufactures high quality engineered parts to a variety of industries from pharmaceutical through to automotive. SSM has 45 years of experience within manufacturing and specialises in sheet metal laser cutting, forming and fabrication.
About the role:
The Manufacturing General labourer is responsible for performing a variety of activities around the manufacturing facility, from production support through to general housekeeping. The general labourer should be able to work independently, but also work well in a team environment, following instructions from supervisors and other personnel. The general labourer should be able to work in a safe and efficient manner.
Responsibilities:
· Deburring
· Carry out chemical cleaning of welded components
· Assist manufacturing activities as required
· Support with transporting goods around the manufacturing facility
· Perform other duties assigned by supervision
Candidate requirements:
· Able to follow instructions
· Quality driven
· Self-sufficient
· Good oral and written communication skills
· Team player, hardworking and reliable
· Able to operate various hand and power tools
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £11.50-£12.15 per hour
