The Role
We are looking for a Manufacturing or Applications Engineer to join the team as part of growth. This is a fullt-time position based on-site (Mon-Fri). The standard working hours are 8am - 4.30pm.
- The core objectives will be to lead in the development of new and existing processes for the vapor deposition polymerization of parylene. li>You’ll be responsible for investigating and implementing new technologies as well as variations of existing processes in order to meet the expectations of marketing and sales and other goals of the business. < i>This position is also responsible for the investigation and resolution of process anomalies, providing direct interface with key account customers, and providing input on ways to enhance/improve existing processes and procedures in conjunction with manufacturing and quality initiatives. li>In addition, you’ll also evaluate and provide working solutions to new and unique customer coating applications as well as generate costing and process documentation.
Requirements
- < i>Degree educated or equivalent qualification in technical, scientific or chemical fields.
- Experience in leading teams in an SME/manufacturing environment.
- Ability to plan, set priorities, and complete multiple work assignments in a timely manner.
- Ability to manage resources and multiple priorities and must be able to interact with individuals at all levels within the organization, as well as customers.
- Possesses strong analytical and technical skills. Has ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to use precision measuring and laboratory instruments, such as U/V vis spectrophotometer, calipers, scales, micrometers, and other test/inspection equipment.
- Has proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power Point, and Word software.
- Demonstrated analytical and technical ability within field of expertise.

My client, a leading engineering company based close to Basingstoke is looking to recruit a Manufacturing Technician on a temp to perm basis. This would typically be within 3-6 months from start date.
The role will work on a double dayshift, working 06.00 – 14.00 / 14.00 – 22.00 which will rotate weekly.
Ideally, candidates will have a background within engineering / manufacturing and be familiar with general engineering practises, machinery and measuring equipment.
Candidates must be able to start immediately or a maximum of a week after successful interview and offer to start - so please only apply if you are available immediately or maximum 1 week from an offer. We will hold a short interview on my clients site in Basingstoke.
Duties to include:
- Laying up & cutting of raw materials. li>Operate process machines to produce moulded products.
- Working to drawings and work Instructions

- Tool set up; preparation; loading; operation; unloading; & linishing.
- Manufacture of products which will involve moulding/bonding/assembly processes
- Self-inspection / quality checking of products and finishing of products where required (trimming etc).
- Testing and line-inspection of components, general quality inspection.
- Fill out necessary paperwork relating to the product.
Hours of work are 06.00 – 14.00 / 14.00 – 22.00 which will rotate weekly. A competitive hourly rate of £15.87 per hour (£30,946 per annum) is on offer for the right candidates.
