Our client, a leading name within their industry, have an immediate need for Manufacturing Specialists to join their team.
You will:
- You will be working as part of the Springtown Manufacturing team. You will be responsible for operating a variety of machines in a 24/7 production environment within our wafer fabrication facility, producing recording heads for data storage products.
- You will perform machine tending operations to ensure that the machines are utilised to their optimum level and that the production goals for the site are met.
- You will be working within a cell of 3-4 people on shift within a larger team of 30-40 people in total.
- You will perform maintenance tasks across a 12-hours shift pattern that will include days, nights, and weekends.
- You will follow all Health & Safety rules and regulations that the facility has in place.
- You must always wear the correct Personal Protective Equipment, (PPE).
- Perform to meet departmental goals and quality targets.
- Be motivated to work in a team and contribute to your team's success.
- Help identify and eliminate problems.
- Assist in simplification and/or improvements of procedures, techniques or processes.
- Adhere to all relevant documentation systems used in the production procedure.
- Observe Clean room and wafer handling etiquette.
- Utilising tools to their optimum level
- Undertake training as required.

- You have basic computer skills.

Salary: Up to 48,000 DOE
Hours - Monday to Thursday (8.00am to 5.00pm) and Friday (8.00am to 1.00pm)

Overview:
We now require an additional Manufacturing Engineer to join the team due to expansion. The company have sites across the UK and EU and manufacture components for some well-known names within industry. This role will require an understanding of to how components are made out of metal - techniques such as machining, fabrication, anodising and metal manipulation. You will create manufacturing route cards (SOP's and methods to manufacture) to ensure the best methods to manufacture whilst continually looking at improvements.
The ideal candidate/ Manufacturing Engineer may have some of the following, however, please note these are only desirable and not essential as all applications will be looked at individually:
- Previous experience writing SOP's, methods of manufacture
- Knowledge of machining and fabrication of metal components
- Excellent inter-personal and presentation skills
- Ability to read manufacturing drawings and specifications and break out the details and processes required for each operation required for manufacture.
- Competence in Office particularly Excel, Word and Project.
- Previous experience working in a role where streamlining and improving processes is key aspect of the your role.
Commutable from Stanley, Consett, Durham, Newcastle, Sunderland and surrounding areas.

My client is a well-established engineering business with a long history and exciting plans for business growth. They are a well know international business who specialise in manufacture of bespoke systems for the O&G sectors.
They are looking to strengthen their team and appoint a Manufacturing / Production Engineer based at their site near Malton.
The successful candidate will be expected to work in collaboration with Operations and Engineering relating to all new and existing products. Providing process and manufacturing engineering expertise into new and existing customer parts and processing/manufacturing methods, ensuring smooth transition to full manufacture.
Candidates will have a demonstrable background in a similar role, involved in process improvement with a knowledge of various manufacturing processes such as Machining, Fabrication and assembly (mechanical and electrical).
Candidates will also ideally be minimum HND qualified in an Engineering capacity.
Hours - 8.30am to 4.30pm Mon-Thurs and 8.30am to 4pm Friday.
Role and Responsibilities
- The design of fixtures, sourcing tooling and producing stage drawings, SOP’s, training manuals and operation procedures.
- li>Creation of engineering documentation and bills of materials using 3D Solidworks and 2D AutoCAD.
- Ensure all pre-production activities, including creation of stage drawings, bills and routes, writing of machine programs, identification of tooling requirements, and the design of fixtures, are completed effectively and in a timely manner to support production plans.
- Participate in feasibility reviews for new parts to evaluate and determine manufacturing methods required and ensure that any exceptions or design changes that will be required prior to quotation and sign off.
- Drive improvements in production processes using continuous improvement methodology whilst developing methods and processes.
