Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality management systems (QMS) in accordance with industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949).
- Establish quality control procedures and standards for all stages of the manufacturing process.
- Lead and mentor the quality control team, providing training and guidance.
- Conduct regular audits of production processes and finished products to identify and address deviations.
- Analyze quality data, identify root causes of defects, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues.
- Manage customer complaints and ensure timely resolution and feedback.
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to quality and production efficiency.
- Oversee the calibration and maintenance of inspection and testing equipment.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and manufacturing processes.
- Prepare quality reports for senior management and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and customer-specific requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field.
- Extensive experience in quality control or quality assurance within the manufacturing sector, particularly automotive.
- Proven track record of implementing and managing QMS and achieving certifications.
- Strong knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and quality tools (e.g., FMEA, DOE, 8D).
- Excellent leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality excellence.
- Ability to work independently and effectively manage a remote team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with all levels of the organization.

What you will be doing:
Developing, implementing, validating and continuously improving the methods of manufacture which are capable of meeting requirements for safety, quality, cost and lead time. Working with interfacing teams, local experts, partners, research institutes, and suppliers to ensure technical aspects of manufacturing processes are understood and accounted for as required.Developing manufacturing technology capability through manufacturing capability acquisition, internally and externally within the Rolls-Royce supply chain. Position Requirements:
Professionally Qualified Engineer (for example UK minimum HND/foundation degree or other national equivalent)Manufacturing engineering experience in one of our core manufacturing processes - Casting, Grinding, EDM, Mill / Turn machining, Assembly of complex parts, coating or joining. For procurement, in addition, we would also welcome experience in raw materials, forgings, fabrications, composites, or electronics.Excellent knowledge in:Problem solving, process improvement and control, and the use of APQP & PPAP tools to manage change.Lean Process Improvement and Industrial Engineering techniques to remove waste and optimise productivityDemonstrable experience working in a manufacturing environment, with engineering and Supply Chain teams. Development of suppliers.Demonstrable experience in product development and developing manufacturing capability and processes.Excellent organisational, communication, and team working skills, with a keen enthusiasm to learn and share best practice. Job description - the role
What you'll be doing:
- A key part of the Manufacturing Engineering team working as a component owner.
- Responsible for the method of manufacture and ensuring parts meet the product definition
- Addressing the causes of non-conformance and non-right-first-time to drive improvements to product quality and cost.
- Part of a high-performing team with capability in single-crystal casting method development, tooling design, metrology, data analytics, metallurgy and more.
- Using data and a structured approach to solve problems; finding root causes and implementing improvements to our manufacturing processes and methods.
- Working with Design Engineering to align product design specifications with manufacturing capability, and with our internal and external suppliers and customers to improve supply chain performance and customer satisfaction
What we're looking for:
- An engineering or other relevant discipline degree/HND/HNC and previous experience working in a manufacturing engineering role.

Overview:
We now require an additional Manufacturing Engineer to join the team. Working in modern purpose-built manufacturing facilities for a company that manufacture precision engineered components. You will be working in a first-class precision engineering environment that have processes such as machining, fabrication and a number of outsourced processes also.
As the Manufacturing Engineer you will be working in a technical role managing projects for the customer from customer enquiry, quotations to writing manufacturing methods/SOP’s and delivery to the customer. You will create manufacturing route cards to ensure the best methods to manufacture liaising with internal departments whilst also managing any external resources required for the project.
The ideal candidate Manufacturing Engineer may have some of the following, however, please note these are only desirable and not essential as all applications will be looked at individually:
- Qualified to HNC level.
- Knowledge of processes such as – machining and/or fabrication.
- Excellent inter-personal and presentation skills.
- Competence in Office particularly Excel, Word and Project.
