Description

  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure repeatable and reliable processes.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure conformity to technical drawings through spot checks and performance audits.
  • Train and support forging operators to ensure understanding and compliance with new methods and procedures.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimisation, simplification, and automation, including robot integration.
  • Lead and support change initiatives by challenging the status quo and proposing practical engineering solutions.
  • Maintain and reorganise store locations and departmental layout for maximum efficiency.
  • Provide hands-on technical support in forging operations involving hydraulic and flywheel presses, slitting machines, induction heating, and coatings.

Profile

A successful Manufacturing Engineer should have:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience.
    • Understanding of mechanical presses or similar application.
    • Nickel alloy materials
    • Induction heating and slitting processes
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and manage tolerance stacking across operations.
  • Evidence of strong mechanical problem-solving capability.
  • Practical knowledge of tool design; familiarity with SolidCAM is a plus.
  • ERP system experience (advantageous).
  • Familiarity with SolidWorks (training can be provided).
  • Experience with metrology equipment and methods is beneficial.
