Prime Appointments is seeking a Manufacturing Enginee r to join a well-established industrial manufacturing company in Colchester. This role involves working closely with Production and Manufacturing teams to improve processes, support daily operations, and drive continuous improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and update Standard Operating Procedures
- Support and guide production staff to ensure smooth operations
- Quickly resolve production issues and perform root cause analysis
- Recommend and justify capital investments with clear ROI
- Lead and support Lean manufacturing and quality improvement initiatives
- Assist with New Product Introductions to ensure manufacturability
- Manage tooling and fixture procurement and replacements.
- Help maintain equipment and improve TPM practice
- Plan and coordinate factory layout changes with relevant teams
- Track department performance metrics and support EHS compliance.
Ideal Candidate:
- Mechanical engineering qualification (HND or degree preferred)
- Familiarity with assembly, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
- Strong knowledge of Lean tools
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment
