Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Colchester

Prime Appointments is seeking a Manufacturing Enginee r to join a well-established industrial manufacturing company in Colchester. This role involves working closely with Production and Manufacturing teams to improve processes, support daily operations, and drive continuous improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and update Standard Operating Procedures
  • Support and guide production staff to ensure smooth operations
  • Quickly resolve production issues and perform root cause analysis
  • Recommend and justify capital investments with clear ROI
  • Lead and support Lean manufacturing and quality improvement initiatives
  • Assist with New Product Introductions to ensure manufacturability
  • Manage tooling and fixture procurement and replacements.
  • Help maintain equipment and improve TPM practice
  • Plan and coordinate factory layout changes with relevant teams
  • Track department performance metrics and support EHS compliance.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Mechanical engineering qualification (HND or degree preferred)
  • Familiarity with assembly, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
  • Strong knowledge of Lean tools
  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment

This is an initial 6 month contract position (inside IR35) with the opportunity for this to extend/become permanent.
