Your skills and experiences:

  • Understands theories and concepts in an engineering discipline area approaches, processes and procedures gained through professional qualification or equivalent
  • Understands engineering approaches, processes and procedures
  • Competent in the use of 3D modelling systems and AMC Techniques,
  • Skills to assist with maintenance and repairs of AMC equipment as necessary, ensuring all equipment is in good working condition

The rate of pay is £16.06 per hour.

Overtime is available and is paid at £4.09 per hour.

This is a full-time role working fixed night shifts and the hours of work are:

Your Time at Work

As a Manufacturing Operative, the key duties of the post are as follows;

- Manufacture bulk products from a variety of raw materials following BMRs.
- Manufacture bulk products in batch sizes up to six tonnes.
- Dispense raw materials following Product Formula Sheets.
- Adjust product parameters (e.g. PH level, viscosity, colour etc.) when necessary as per product specifications.
- Set up connections between vessels to enable both hot and cold liquid transfers.
- Unload bulk products and calculate yields.
- Ensure batches are produced on time, and in accordance to product specifications and standards.
- Ensure manufacturing vessels are kept clean and any faults are reported immediately so corrective action can be taken.
- Operate electric-powered pallet/stacker truck.
- Be responsible and accountable for the completion of own BMRs.
- Ensure documentation is accurately maintained and relevant information communicated as appropriate.
- Liaise with other departments to organise storage of finished batches when necessary.
- Enhance safety, quality and efficiency.
- Ensure that all operations are performed in a safe way, and safe working practices are followed at all times.
- Maintain high standards of GMP at all times.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties at the request of the Technical Compounder / Manufacturing Manager.
- Be available for weekend and out-of-hours work if and when the business dictates.
- Support the Shift Team Leader in providing on-the-job training for new recruits

My client, a leading engineering company based close to Basingstoke is looking to recruit a Manufacturing Technician on an ongoing temporary basis. There is the potential for the role to become permanant after a period of time (typically 3-6 months). 

The role will work on a double dayshift, working 06.00 – 14.00 / 14.00 – 22.00 which will rotate weekly.

Ideally, candidates will have a background within engineering / manufacturing and be familiar with general engineering practises, machinery and measuring equipment.

Candidates must be able to start immediately or a maximum of a week after successful interview and offer to start - so please only apply if you are available immediately or maximum 1 week from an offer. We will hold a short interview on my clients site in Basingstoke.

Duties to include:

  • Laying up & cutting of raw materials.
  • Operate process machines to produce moulded products.

  • Tool set up; preparation; loading; operation; unloading; & linishing.
  • Manufacture of products which will involve moulding/bonding/assembly processes
  • Self-inspection / quality checking of products and finishing of products where required (trimming etc).
  • Testing and line-inspection of components, general quality inspection.
  • Fill out necessary paperwork relating to the product.

Hours of work are 06.00 – 14.00 / 14.00 – 22.00 which will rotate weekly. A competitive hourly rate of £15.87 per hour (£30,946 per annum) is on offer for the right candidates.

L3Harris in Farnborough engineer and maintain Night Vision Goggles, Precision Approach Radar systems, and Tactical Radios. Notably, we are the proud designer, supplier and maintainer of the 50,000 tactical radios in the Bowman tactical C4I system in service with the UK Armed Forces and are working to define and deliver the next generation system, Morpheus.
We are looking for a Manufacturing Technician to join our Operations Department. The role will require the ability to troubleshoot to component level using Automatic Test Equipment (ATE), circuit diagrams and debug software. You will report directly to the Operations Manager and will be responsible for Fault Finding to component level on both RF modules and complex CCA's, performing assembly/test of highly complex assemblies used in military communications, conduct Special To Type Equipment (STTE) acceptance and/or qualification and/or type tests. The role will involve some design/development and improvements to existing processes and procedures for new products working to tight timescales.

What the role will involve
The responsibilities of your role will include the following:
+ Working closely with other departments (Operations Test/Troubleshoot, Manufacturing Engineering, QA, Program Management) to ensure a successful outcome.
+ Test Procedures - may be required to assist with the preparation of production test procedures from engineering specifications to assure that the product is being adequately tested in every parameter required.
+ Assist on cost reduction and records to identify problem areas in test.
