Job Role: Manufacturing Engineer
Salary: £38,000
Location: Wrexham
Hours: Mon-Thurs 8am to 4:30pm | Fri 8am to 2:30pm
Overview:
Our Client are looking for a maintenance engineer to join their maintenance team, providing professional and timely support for a range of mechanical equipment and control system maintenance tasks across the Wrexham site.
The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with production to ensure minimum disruption to production in the event of any down time of machinery by quick responses to equipment failures and regular PPM’s as a proactive measure.

Duties:
• Adhere to all Health and Safety rules and practices when performing tasks, operating equipment and moving around the site, seeking guidance where needed.
• Follow established maintenance systems and procedures.
• Recommend, establish and implement effective preventative maintenance procedures for
capital equipment where there do not currently exist.
• Support ongoing continuous improvement activities and business initiatives on site as part of the wider goal to move the business to a world class manufacturing / best practice environment. As an example, this will include using and participating in Lean techniques (5S, Kaizen) and internal initiatives of ThinkSAFE and Find it Fix it.
• To plan, schedule and undertake routine maintenance work as required and instructed.
• To support the Production team by responding quickly to reports of equipment breakdowns or failures and ensuring all repairs are undertaken effectively, with minimal disruption to normal production.
• To gain a comprehensive understanding of the PLC controlled, and other specialist equipment to provide full fault diagnosis, support and repair.
• To undertake critical spares analysis for key items of production equipment and to ensure that adequate stocks of spare components are maintained.
• Work as a member of the Maintenance team, providing out of normal production hours as and when necessary, to minimise disruption to production.
• Accurately record all assigned work orders.
• Perform any other duties necessary, as instructed by the Maintenance Manager or member of the site management team to carry out the job function and achieve department and Company objectives.
Requirements:
• Possess GCSE grade 5 / C standard or above (or equivalent) in Math’s and English.
• Possess a formal qualification in an Engineering discipline (BTEC or equivalent) preferable or demonstrate significant work experience.
• Demonstrate prior completion of Health & Safety in the Workplace courses advantageous.
• Previous experience of mechanical repair of production equipment. Demonstrate a track record (5 years +) working within a manufacturing environment.
• Basic welding knowledge and working experience are advantageous.
• Experience of maintenance and repair of PLC control systems is advantageous.
• Experience of working within a team environment.
• Good computer skills. Able to use in-house maintenance systems to update / confirm tasks.
• Fluent Business English.
• Able to understand instructions, seek guidance and contribute to discussions
