Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in Quality Control or Quality Assurance within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing quality management systems (QMS).
  • Strong understanding of statistical process control (SPC), Six Sigma methodologies, and Lean manufacturing principles.

This is a rare opportunity to shape and influence supplier engagement from day one, acting as the key technical interface between internal engineering and the external supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the technical link between engineering teams and suppliers to ensure component manufacturability and compliance with design and quality requirements.

  • Work closely with Quality to lead root cause investigations, implement corrective actions, and support continuous improvement at supplier sites.

About You:

  • Experience in manufacturing engineering, supply chain, or technical procurement within high-integrity sectors (e.g. defence, aerospace, marine, or advanced manufacturing).
  • Degree, HNC or HND in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Production Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, fabrication, PCBAs, coatings, welding, NDT, or composites.
  • Confident interpreting technical drawings, GD&T, and engineering specifications.
  • Skilled in supplier relationship management and effective at influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Comfortable working with ERP/MRP systems and engineering documentation.
  • Must be eligible to obtain relevant UK security clearance.
