The engineering team is responsible for:
- Defining process equipment requirements and specifications.
- Reviewing manufacturing, fabrication, and system assembly methods for photonics solutions in harsh environments.
- Delivering consistently conforming products that aim to exceed customer expectations through compliance with EN9100:2016 (AS 9100) and other regulatory and contractual standards.
About the Role:
As an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (AME), you will work closely with stakeholders to influence the design and manufacturing planning process. You’ll define methods, BOMs, and routes for both new and existing products, identifying the tools and equipment required to meet high-quality standards and customer specifications. You’ll also optimise productivity through analysis of layout, workflow, assembly methods, and output—while supporting daily production activities to ensure smooth operations.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure new products are introduced using data-driven, repeatable process methods.
- Implement work instructions, routes, BOMs, tools and equipment, technical drawings, risk assessments, and facilities in line with requests, quality standards, and cost targets.
- Keep projects on track and aligned with their original scope.
- Provide concise, data-driven reports for senior leadership at key review points.
- Maintain regular communication with production teams to align on priorities.
Requirements
Skills and Requirements:
- Strong self-management skills with the ability to prioritise according to defined goals and objectives.
- Technical expertise in the manufacturing and processing of assigned product areas.
- Experience applying mechanical and/or electrical engineering principles.
- Proficient in producing drawings and/or mechanical models using recognised CAD software.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with new product introduction and deployment.
- Familiarity with process data collection.
- Knowledge of FMEA, PFMEA, and DFMEA (Design for Manufacture).
- Experience creating production and process control plans.
- Understanding of optical/photonic systems, particularly optical fibre.

This role requires close collaboration with the manufacturing team to understand assembly techniques.
Documentation and Standards:
· Create and maintain accurate assembly instructions, work instructions and inspection criteria for manufacturing and QA.
· Ensure instructions and processes comply with relevant standards (e.g. IPC-620 / ARINC / IEC 61300-3-35 / AS9100).
· Produce work instructions/routings from technical drawings/specifications for production build.
Manufacturing Support and Improvement:
· Work closely with manufacturing to troubleshoot design/assembly related production issues and implement immediate and long-term corrective actions.
· Identify production opportunities for improvement within the assembly process.
· Identify tooling required to perform assembly instructions, and research into new technologies/tooling to improve quality/efficiency/repeatability.
Design and Development:

- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes for cable assemblies, including crimping, soldering, pot and polish optical termination, fusion splicing, routing.
- Ability to read and interpret complex wiring diagrams/schematics.
Preferred Qualifications (Optional):
- IPC-WHMA-A-620
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the Aerospace/Military/Automotive industry.

To support our continued growth, Boccard are looking for a qualified QC Engineer to work onsite at HPC. The QC Engineer is responsible for carrying out inspections and surveillance in accordance with the Project Quality Plan. To develop, foster and promote a culture with the client of operational satisfaction. They will support QC Inspectors with daily tasks and create lifetime records, while playing a key role to develop, foster and promote a culture with our client of operational satisfaction.
 
Key responsibilities
- Ensure that the Project Quality Plan / Inspection Test Plan is written in-line with the project requirements and is being effectively implemented and shared with relevant managers.
- Review of all documentation, LTRs & final certification packages are in accordance with contract requirements
- Review calibration and test equipment are in full compliance with company & contract requirements.
- Ensure weld procedures comply with relevant code & contract requirements.
- Carry out any Quality Awareness Training.
- Analyse non-conformance reports
- Final review of all fabrication and assembly documentation before submission to the client
- Maintain the approved suppliers listing and requesting any documentation that may have expired.
- Liaising with Suppliers, Subcontractors, clients etc and attend meetings where appropriate.
- Issue of any Quality Documents required by client to Document Control for approval/review.
- Liaise with sub-contractor and ensure all documentation runs concurrently with the project requirements.
- Liaise with client representatives relating to QA/ QC operation
- Conducting Audits of the Works and Projects Quality System, including Sub-contractors and Supplier systems where appropriate. Issuing NCRs where applicable and ensure that they are addressed in a timely manner
- Review and recording of all Quality Questionnaires and supporting documents for additional Suppliers and Subcontractors wishing to be added to the HPSL ‘Approved Supplier Listing’
- Colette and keep upto date SQEP Files for HPSL Personnel – issue to client if required by Contract/Client.
- To carry out any other reasonable duties within the overall function of the role.

Qualifications and Experience
- Advanced knowledge of modern welding procedures

Key Duties:
Organising and preparing items for the paint line
Hanging items on the paint line ready for painting
Removing painted items from the line and sorting them accordingly
Cleaning and preparing items before they are painted
Handling and moving paint and materials as required (occasionally handling boxes of up to 20kg)
Requirements
Good level of physical fitness – the role involves regular movement and manual handling
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Attention to detail and ability to follow processes
A proactive and reliable attitude
