Key responsibilities include developing and implementing comprehensive quality control plans, procedures, and standards in line with ISO/TS 16949 (or IATF 16949) and other relevant automotive industry requirements. You will oversee all aspects of incoming, in-process, and final product inspection, ensuring adherence to specifications. The Quality Control Manager will be responsible for managing non-conformance reporting, root cause analysis, and the implementation of effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). You will work closely with engineering and production teams to address quality issues proactively and drive process improvements. Key performance indicators (KPIs) related to quality will be monitored and reported on regularly to senior management.
The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Quality related) or a closely related field, coupled with a minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in quality control or quality assurance within the automotive manufacturing sector. A deep understanding of quality management systems (QMS), statistical process control (SPC), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and other quality tools is essential. Experience with PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) and APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) is highly desirable. Excellent leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are required to effectively manage the team and collaborate cross-functionally. This role requires a hands-on approach and a strong commitment to driving quality excellence on the shop floor in Coventry .

Your responsibilities will include:
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of new projects, from quotation to initial delivery, acting as a hybrid between commercial, estimating, and manufacturing engineering functions.
You will:
Track and manage new opportunities, including RFQs (Request for Quotations).
Collaborate across the factory (fabricated or machined components) to accurately determine manufacturing costs.
Prepare and submit comprehensive quotations to customers.
Manage successful projects on a first-time-through basis, overseeing the initial production run.

A strong practical understanding of how components are manufactured.
A solid background in both fabrication and machining, with a preference for stronger fabrication experience. A minimum element of fabrication knowledge is essential.
The ability to interpret engineering drawings and customer specifications to identify the most efficient method of manufacture.
Experience within a precision engineering metallic background.
A proactive and "switched on" approach, with a willingness to learn and adapt to internal processes (RFQ and estimating training can be provided).
