The Opportunity
We're looking for a talented Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. This is a hands on role where you'll be driving process improvements, solving complex production challenges, and delivering measurable results across quality, cost, and efficiency.
What You'll Do
- Create and refine work instructions, tooling documentation, and inspection regimes.
- Lead cross-functional projects to boost performance and streamline processes.
- Apply Lean tools and problem-solving methods (5 Whys, 8D, DMAIC) to eliminate waste and inefficiencies.
- Analyse production data (downtime, cycle times, OEE, KPIs) to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Support equipment maintenance programmes and ensure operational readiness.
- Work with CAD, ERP/MRP, and digital systems to manage technical data and tooling.
What We're Looking For
- HND or higher in Mechanical Engineering (SolidWorks experience desirable).
- Experience in manufacturing engineering, ideally in aerospace, precision engineering, or similar sectors.
- Proven track record delivering process improvements using Lean, SPC, and KPI analysis.
- Strong knowledge of metal processing and surface finishing operations.
- Confident communicator, able to work across technical and non-technical teams.
- Analytical, innovative, and results-driven with excellent project management skills.

Key Responsibilities for the Manufacturing Engineer
- Provide hands on, day to day, technical support within operational areas as required and support team members to help achieve targets and objectives
- Provide documentation and work instructions as necessary to support manufacturing activities
- Prepare and maintain manufacturing processes, qualification and documentation undertaking continuous improvement as appropriate
- Provide support to manufacturing management with operational activities
- Ensure all procedures and methods are updated with respect to the business and the customer requirements and standards
- Ensure that products, documentation and processes are designed with manufacturability in mind
- Be the interface between design and manufacture for product or process introduction
- Assist with non-conformance issue within manufacturing areas;
- Develop, embed and maintain performance metrics within operational areas;
- Liaise with both internal and external customers.
Key Experience and Background for the Manufacturing Engineer
- Degree/HNC or equivalent in Engineering/Science
- Previous experience of working within a highly regulated industry would be an advantage.
- Good understanding of the principles of the operation of applicable components, working knowledge of documentation control within a highly regulated industry and knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques including Root Cause analysis.
- Proven experience of working with engineering documentation including drawings, specifications, work instructions and first article inspection reports.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities
As part of the Quality Team, your responsibilities will include:

- In-process inspection & test.
- Sealing & finishing operations.
- Calibration operations.
- Fault finding to sub-assembly level on RMAs and production test fails.
- Support Skills Matrix qualification and cross-training of Manufacturing Operatives.
- Champion 5S & Standard Work to maintain and improve product quality and factory productivity.
- Support internal Management System audits (ISO 9001 / 14001).
