MANUFACTURING CONTROLLER - 12 MONTHS - 25.26PH - ONSITE IN STEVENAGE - BPSS
Overview of department:
The Manufacturing Controller role will involve issue, receipt and management of stores and inventory in a stores environment. Loading, control and monitoring of work packages in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Stock control / storekeeping including shelf life control.
- Loading the manufacturing cells with the requisite jobs in accordance with planned lead and cycle times, in order to comply with manufacturing programmes and delivery schedules.
- Packing including the use of hand tools. Receiving and issuing of tooling.
- Updating computer records.
- Kitting activity.
- Loading and unloading of Lorries.
Skillset/experience required:
- Experience in a stores environment or manufacturing control.
- Follow instructions.
- Willing to work flexible shift patterns.
- Attention to detail.
- Work on own with minimal supervision.
- Use own initiative
- Manual handling training.
- Lifting & Slinging training (Including overhead cranes).
- ESD training.
Desirable skills:
- PC skills, including EXCEL.
- Fork lift truck licence.
- Knowledge of Kanban and 2 bin systems.
- Experience with an Enterprise Planning System e.g. SAP.

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for supporting day-to-day operations including production associates, equipment, and processes to ensure we provide the highest quality products to our customers. The Manufacturing Engineer also provides technical and project leadership to develop and deploy equipment and process upgrades for new product development, cost reduction and quality improvement.
This position reports to the Tech Transfer Team Leader and is part of the Operations & Supply Chain team located in Stevenage and will be an on-site role.
What you will do:
+ Identify, participate in and lead projects that deliver improvements in safety, quality, delivery and cost
+ Problem solve process issues and/or product non-conformances using empirical evidence and quantitative analysis
+ Participate in New Product Development projects and support the transfer of new products from development into production
+ Create process and validation documentation to ensure manufacturing is performed safely and meets the documented quality specifications
+ Maintain full regulatory compliance with EHS, quality and legal requirements
Who you are:
+ Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Process Engineering (or a related field) with more than 5 years of relevant experience
+ Experience of applying lean manufacturing tools including Daily Management, Standard Work and Lean Conversion
+ Equipment and process design and improvement in a regulated industry
+ Excellent communicator (written & verbal), comfortable interacting at all levels of the organisation
+ Able to work independently and collaborate well across diverse functions in a matrix organisation
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: if applicable for role
+ Able to travel within UK/Europe in support of the role objectives (estimated at 10%)
+ Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
+ Clean room environments in the Pharmaceutical or Medical Device industry
