The basics:
Role: Manufacturing Engineer - machining and fabrication
Location: Consett
Salary: Up to 48,000 DOE
Hours - Monday to Thursday (8.00am to 5.00pm) and Friday (8.00am to 1.00pm)
Holidays - 34 per annum inc BH
Pension - 3% employer, 5% employee
Overview:
We now require an additional Manufacturing Engineer to join the team due to expansion. The company have sites across the UK and EU and manufacture components for some well-known names within industry. This role will require an understanding of to how components are made out of metal - techniques such as machining, fabrication, anodising and metal manipulation. You will create manufacturing route cards (SOP's and methods to manufacture) to ensure the best methods to manufacture whilst continually looking at improvements.
The ideal candidate/ Manufacturing Engineer may have some of the following, however, please note these are only desirable and not essential as all applications will be looked at individually:
- Previous experience writing SOP's, methods of manufacture
- Knowledge of machining and fabrication of metal components
- Excellent inter-personal and presentation skills
- Ability to read manufacturing drawings and specifications and break out the details and processes required for each operation required for manufacture.
- Competence in Office particularly Excel, Word and Project.
- Previous experience working in a role where streamlining and improving processes is key aspect of the your role.
Commutable from Stanley, Consett, Durham, Newcastle, Sunderland and surrounding areas.

We are looking to recruit a Manufacturing Operative to work within an established business in Birtley.
The role involves:
- Preparing the materials required for production
- Following SOPs, ensuring the correct quantities of product are used for the production of each product
- Machine operating
- Quality control and attention to detail
- Working to daily targets
This does require manually lifting the materials so applicants must be physically fit.
The role will involve working on a three shift pattern 6.00am-2.00pm, Monday to Friday 2.00pm-10.00pm Monday to Friday and 10.00pm-6.00am Sunday to Thursday. You will also be required to work Saturday when you are on the 6.00am-2.00pm shift. (One in every 3 weeks)
Essential Experience:

- Previous use of a Fork Lift truck is highly advantageous

Responsibilities:
- To manufacture, fill, label and packagekits and components ensuring that all work meets the expected quality standards.
- Any other reasonable requests based on workload throughout the factory.
- To work in accordance with Health and Safety and COSHH guidelines.
- Follow instructions and complete documentation to ISO13485 and GMP standards.
- Set up production runs and produce consistent and reliable product from these processes.
- Utilise safety equipment where required.
- Perform duties in a safe and efficient manner.
- A scientific background or experience in a similar manufacturing environment would be desirable.
- Experience of working to GMP
- Ability to follow instructions and complete documentation to ISO13485 and GMP standards.
- Able to work well within a team.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
- Good attention to detail
