Overview
The Manufacturing Engineer will play a key role in supporting day-to-day production operations, including machine programming, process validation, and technical support to the manufacturing team. This position will focus on driving process improvements, enhancing manufacturing efficiency, and maintaining high standards of product quality through continuous improvement initiatives.
 
Key Responsibilities
• Assess new and existing technologies to develop and optimise manufacturing plans.
• Maintain equipment functionality by performing basic maintenance and coordinating external servicing for major repairs.
• Oversee maintenance records and troubleshoot production issues to minimise downtime.
• Establish, implement, and sustain manufacturing processes for new products across their full life cycle.
• Evaluate equipment and production methods with the goal of improving performance, efficiency, and reliability.
• Create and validate automated machine programs.
• Develop detailed process documentation and train production staff on updated procedures.
• Provide advanced technical support to production teams to resolve complex issues.
• Collaborate with Quality teams to analyse performance data, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions.
• Use structured problem-solving techniques (e.g. root cause analysis) to address assembly and process issues.
• Create and manage all manufacturing documentation in accordance with internal standards.
• Perform additional related duties as required to support manufacturing operations.
 
The Candidate
Degree-qualified in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or a related Engineering discipline (BEng preferred).
Strong understanding of Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, and assembly documentation.
Experience using ERP/MRP systems in a production environment.
Capable of working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and departments.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple projects effectively.
Familiarity with project management methodologies is advantageous.
