Overview:
We now require an additional Manufacturing Engineer to join the team. Working in modern purpose-built manufacturing facilities for a company that manufacture precision engineered components.
You will be working in a first-class precision engineering environment that have processes such as machining, fabrication and a number of out sourced processes also.
As the Manufacturing Engineer you will be working in a technical role managing projects for the customer from start to finish, ensuring the project is delivered on time and within budget.
You will create manufacturing route cards to ensure the best methods to manufacture liaising with internal departments whilst also managing any external resources required for the project.
The ideal candidate Manufacturing Engineer may have some of the following, however, please note these are only desirable and not essential as all applications will be looked at individually:
- Qualified to HNC level.
- Knowledge of processes such as - machining and/or fabrication.
- Excellent inter-personal and presentation skills.
- Competence in Office particularly Excel, Word and Project.
- Good working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems
- Ability to read manufacturing drawings and specifications and break out the details and processes required for each operation required for manufacture.
- Capable of working un-supervised and using own initiative.
- Good eye for detail with a methodical approach to the task in hand.

- Analysing and reporting on production processes, methods, schedules, downtime, cycle times, availability of machines and waste management
- Lead Strategic Improvement Projects from conception to completion, delivering an engaging change experience for the internal customer
- Leading root cause analysis when production processes vary from expected results
- Delivering change activities to improve manufacturing processes
- Driving Change and strengthening relationships between the Operations, Technical and Quality teams in order to facilitate and track changes
- Troubleshooting and providing support to operations as dictated by business needs
- Establishing and Validating Process Documentation
- Optimisation of local Manufacturing processes to maximise efficiency and
effectiveness - Ensure a clear and holistic understanding of internal and external customers expectations and aligning improvement solutions accordingly
- Supporting Capex Proposals and implementation of improvements
Ideal Candidate:
- HNC/HND, or equivalent level in an engineering discipline, desirable
- Improvement Process Management
- Local Process Expertise and knowledge of manufacturing production and processes
- Experience of building strong internal and external customer relationships
- Decision maker and problem solver
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work as part of a team
