About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our Manufacturing Engineering team in Whitstable.
This is a hands-on, customer-facing role where you will play a key part in product validation, production issue resolution, and driving continuous improvement across processes and quality systems.
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be expected to contribute technical expertise to product and process design, support supplier and customer quality initiatives, and lead improvements in line with AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead product inspections, build validations, and complete/approve FAIR documentation.
Investigate quality and production issues, identifying corrective actions and trends.
Interface directly with customers and suppliers to resolve quality concerns.
Support and contribute to audits (ISO 9001 / AS9100).
Drive improvements in product and process design, including risk analyses (DFMEA, PFMEA).
Provide technical input into new product introduction and engineering change activities.
What We're Looking For:
HNC / A Level or higher in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related discipline.
1-2 years'+ experience in an engineering or manufacturing role.
Strong understanding of technical drawings, specifications, and standards.
Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001 / AS9100).
Good problem-solving skills, ideally with exposure to 8D, 5 Whys, and similar tools.
Desirable:
Experience in electronics, cable/harness assembly, or connector manufacturing.
Familiarity with APQP tools (FMEAs, PFDs, Control Plans).
Competence with CAD and ERP/PDM systems.
Customer-facing experience in a quality or engineering role.
