Company Mission
Nusku is leading the energy transition with a revolutionary new heating system that enables a seamless shift away from gas boilers to a more affordable and greener solution. Our mission is not only to reduce the carbon emissions from the UK's 29 million homes, which currently account for 20% of the UK's CO2 footprint, but also to reshape how people think about home heating. We are driven by innovation and long-term sustainability, developing products that are efficient, reliable and accessible. By bringing breakthrough technology into everyday homes, we aim to improve comfort for our customers, lower energy costs, and accelerate the UK's journey to net zero.
Who you are
We are looking for an engineer who is motivated by purpose and inspired by impact. You see challenges as opportunities, and you're excited to shape how innovative designs can be brought to life at scale. This is your chance to take products from the drawing board to real homes, making a tangible difference to sustainability in the UK. You'll thrive equally in the workshop and in the office, with confidence working across mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies. Curious, collaborative and analytical, you'll enjoy solving problems, seeing ideas through to completion. You take satisfaction in defining processes and optimising them. Most importantly, you'll want your engineering skills to contribute to a mission that matters—building a greener future.
What the job involves
As Manufacturing Engineer, you will help turn design concepts into tangible products. Responsibilities include:
- Developing prototypes, test rigs, tooling and jigs, and supporting New Product Introduction (NPI).
- Partnering with design and procurement to ensure a Design for Manufacture & Assembly (DFM/DFA) approach, approving CAD and drawings where appropriate.
- Shaping manufacturing strategies, optimising assembly processes, and driving lean improvements.
- Leading PFMEA activities to identify risks and establish controls before manufacture.
- Working with procurement and suppliers to assess, select and improve quality, cost, and manufacturability.
- Investigating non-conforming material or products from the supply chain where required.
- Establishing practices to ensure control and traceability of manufacturing data.
- Supporting compliance and validation work.
How we work
We are a committed team, driven to improve the heat pump experience for our customers and reduce the carbon emissions of home heating. We expect you to share these values and contribute to this mission. This role is predominantly site-based in Bristol, with some domestic travel required to support production processes. Flexible home working is available when appropriate, balancing lifestyle needs with business requirements.
What we're looking for
We are looking for someone with a solid foundation of experience who is ready to apply their skills in a fast growing environment. The following skills and experiences will help you succeed in this role:
Must-haves:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in manufacturing engineering or NPI.
- Hands-on expertise with mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies.
- Strong knowledge of DFM/DFA, lean tools, and quality systems (FMEA, SPC, 8D).
- Knowledge of multiple manufacturing and assembly processes, with a good understanding of GF&T requirements for assemblies.
Nice-to-haves:
- Proficiency in CAD interrogation and reading engineering drawings, with experience approving drawings for release.
- A proactive, quality-focused problem-solver who collaborates well and drives results.
- Adaptability to changing work environments and new challenges.
- Background in consumer products, HVAC, or home appliances.
Our culture & benefits
At Nusku, we believe in building an inclusive and supportive workplace where every team member can thrive. We encourage collaboration, curiosity, and continuous learning. As part of our team, you'll enjoy:
- Being part of a mission-driven company tackling one of the UK's biggest sustainability challenges.
- The chance to work with a dynamic and supportive engineering team.
- Flexible working arrangements to balance work and life.
- Opportunities for professional development and career progression as we grow.
- 25 days of holiday each year, plus your birthday off as an extra treat.
- Comprehensive group insurance cover, including life insurance, income protection, and critical illness insurance (subject to standard eligibility criteria).
- Access to a virtual GP service and an employee assistance program for health and wellbeing support.
- A contributory company pension scheme (subject to scheme rules).
- A cycle-to-work scheme to support your health and sustainability goals.
Join us on our journey to transform home heating in the UK and play your part in building a greener, more sustainable future.
