A well-established engineering and defence manufacturing business is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Supervisor to lead a high-performing production team at their site in Stockport.

This permanent position offers the opportunity to play a key role in delivering quality products on time and to cost, while championing a culture of continuous improvement. The successful candidate will lead by example, ensuring that health, safety, quality, and delivery standards are consistently met across the shop floor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise day-to-day manufacturing operations to meet schedule, quality, and cost targets
  • li>Drive continuous improvement across production processes and team performance
  • Lead safety, health, and environmental (SHE) activities in line with company policy
  • Manage resource planning, shift cover, and cross-functional redeployment as required
  • Conduct daily team briefings and maintain local KPI boards (SQCDP)
  • Report production performance and initiate recovery actions when needed
  • Support employee development through on-the-job coaching and training
  • Maintain workplace standards and audit readiness
  • Ensure adherence to quality management systems and manufacturing procedures

Key Requirements:

  • Degree or HND in a Manufacturing or Engineering discipline
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing environment

  • Familiarity with aerospace, automotive, or precision engineering sectors
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and structured problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge of SAP and MRP systems (desirable)
