Our Operations Managers have a big job, it's down to them to ensure our manufacturing operation runs smoothly, ensuring we deliver great quality products to our customers, on time. It's demanding, pacey and ever-changing. Reporting into the Site Manager, you will manage a team of Shift Managers who are responsible for a large number of operators and technicians.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Ensuring the Health & Safety of all colleagues whilst maintaining and making improvements in all areas
  • Maintaining a balanced scorecard against KPIs to drive further growth across the site
  • Maximising profits and drive performance improvement
  • Working with our current teams to drive the Continuous Improvement Strategy, through colleague involvement and engagement

About You

As well as strong leadership skills you will also:

  • Be working as a Production Manager/Operations Manager, or equivalent, within a large scale, fast-paced production environment - ideally across Food Manufacturing.
  • Have a proven track record in an operational management role in particular delivering results, with a strong emphasis on leading, motivating and developing.
  • Have experience in leading and coaching managers to drive forward results and step change operational performance would also be a great advantage, and would be in line with the expectations of our current managers
  • Have a good working knowledge of the tools and techniques of Continuous Improvement and how to integrate them into a business

Overview

The Manufacturing Engineer will play a key role in supporting day-to-day production operations, including machine programming, process validation, and technical support to the manufacturing team. This position will focus on driving process improvements, enhancing manufacturing efficiency, and maintaining high standards of product quality through continuous improvement initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

• Assess new and existing technologies to develop and optimise manufacturing plans.

• Maintain equipment functionality by performing basic maintenance and coordinating external servicing for major repairs.

• Oversee maintenance records and troubleshoot production issues to minimise downtime.

• Establish, implement, and sustain manufacturing processes for new products across their full life cycle.

• Evaluate equipment and production methods with the goal of improving performance, efficiency, and reliability.

• Create and validate automated machine programs.

• Develop detailed process documentation and train production staff on updated procedures.

• Provide advanced technical support to production teams to resolve complex issues.

• Collaborate with Quality teams to analyse performance data, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions.

• Use structured problem-solving techniques (e.g. root cause analysis) to address assembly and process issues.

• Create and manage all manufacturing documentation in accordance with internal standards.

• Perform additional related duties as required to support manufacturing operations.


The Candidate

Degree-qualified in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or a related Engineering discipline (BEng preferred).

Strong understanding of Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles.

Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, and assembly documentation.

Experience using ERP/MRP systems in a production environment.

Capable of working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and departments.

Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple projects effectively.

Familiarity with project management methodologies is advantageous.

Overview:

The Head of Mixing and Processing is responsible for overseeing all operations related to the formulation, compounding, and preparation of cosmetic products — including perfumes, sanitizers, creams, gels, sprays, and other personal care items. This role ensures that all products are mixed, processed, and transferred according to established formulations, safety standards, and quality specifications.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise the mixing and processing teams to ensure efficient and accurate batch production.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate daily mixing operations in alignment with production targets and deadlines.
  • Ensure all formulations are prepared according to approved master formulas and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Monitor key process parameters (temperature, viscosity, pH, density, etc.) to maintain product consistency and quality.
  • Oversee the weighing, measuring, and dispensing of raw materials according to formulation requirements.
  • Collaborate with R&D and Quality Control to troubleshoot batch issues and optimize formulations.
  • Implement and maintain strict hygiene, safety, and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards within the mixing area.
  • Manage equipment maintenance schedules and coordinate with engineering for any repairs or calibrations.
  • Train, motivate, and evaluate staff to promote skill development and ensure high performance.
  • Maintain detailed batch production records and ensure traceability of all raw materials and processes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects aimed at reducing waste, improving efficiency, and enhancing product quality.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Cosmetic Science, or related field.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in cosmetic or personal care manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of formulation processes, mixing technologies, and GMP requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with R&D, QC, and Production Planning teams.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and environmental standards in cosmetic production.
