Key responsibilities include developing and implementing comprehensive quality control plans, procedures, and standards in line with ISO/TS 16949 (or IATF 16949) and other relevant automotive industry requirements. You will oversee all aspects of incoming, in-process, and final product inspection, ensuring adherence to specifications. The Quality Control Manager will be responsible for managing non-conformance reporting, root cause analysis, and the implementation of effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). You will work closely with engineering and production teams to address quality issues proactively and drive process improvements. Key performance indicators (KPIs) related to quality will be monitored and reported on regularly to senior management.
The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Quality related) or a closely related field, coupled with a minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in quality control or quality assurance within the automotive manufacturing sector. A deep understanding of quality management systems (QMS), statistical process control (SPC), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and other quality tools is essential. Experience with PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) and APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) is highly desirable. Excellent leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are required to effectively manage the team and collaborate cross-functionally. We are offering Rotating Shift (AM/PM), Day Shifts and Night Shfts with combination of different roles within the business:
Rotating Shift AM/PM - (Must be able to rotate) - £12.91 per hour
- AM: Monday-Thursday: 06:00-14:00, Friday 06:00-13:00 or Monday-Wednesday: 06:00-16:00, Thursday: 06:00-15:00
- PM: Monday- Thursday: 14:00-22:00, Friday: 13:00-20:00
Nigtr Shift - £14.04 per hour
- Sunday: 23:00-06:00, Monday-Thursday: 22:00-06:00 OR Sunday: 21:00-06:00, Monday-Wednesday: 20:00-06:00
Overtime during the week and Saturday paid at x1.5 rate and Sunday overtime paid at x2 rate.
- Compulsory overtime may be called on site due to customer needs, and can be called with short notice

The successful candidate will be responsible optimising manufacturing processes, improving product quality and production efficiency. Also to support the NPI projects into production.
Key responsibilities and duties
- To analyse, develop and optimise manufacturing processes to maximise quality, efficiency, cost effectiveness and health and safety.
- Ensure strong process control and process capability across the manufacturing function of the operations.
- To apply lean manufacturing and industrial engineering optimisation techniques including kaizen, time studies, line balancing and value stream mapping.
- Deliver continuous improvements initiatives to target quality improvements productivity gains, right first time (RFT) rates and waste reduction.
- Support the industrialisation of NPI, including the development of production process, tooling, work instructions and validation plans.
- Collaboration with design and development teams to ensure manufacturability and seamless transition of new designs into production (design for manufacturer and assembly - DFMA principles)
- Apply APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) process to ensure the product and process readiness for manufacturing and timely delivery.
- Lead the PPAP to verify that product designs and manufacturing processes meet specifications and are capable of mass production.
- Troubleshoot an resolve production issues, applying structured root cause analysis (RCA), and leading corrective and preventative actions (CAPA) in line with 8D & DMAIC problem solving techniques.
- Develop and validate manufacturing tooling.
- Define, document and maintain robust manufacturing process controls including routings, work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOP).
- Ensure all activites comply with aerospace quality standards (AS9100, NADCAP).
Skills and experience required
- Extensive experience working in a manufacturing, process or production engineering capacity within a machining, forgings, fabrication environment.
- Qualified to a degree of higher national diploma (HND) in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of process control and process capability including the use of statistical tools to validate and monitor production stability.
- Strong continuous improvement leadership focused on quality, productivity, RFT, and reduction in wastage.
- Hands on experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, 8D, DMAIC.
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Experience in process validation, PFMEA, control plans and SPC.
- Good working knowledge of aerospace quality standards (AS9100).

This is a newly created role in the business to support them with the introduction of new products within the business. You will be working on some interesting projects and have the opportunity to work in many different departments, particularly within Manufacturing and Design. They are offering an attractive salary package circa to 40k to 45k, working a 39-hour contracted week and finishing earlier on Fridays.
Responsibilities:
- The Manufacturing Engineer will project manage the design of new Machinery, systems, equipment and processes for the introduction of new products or the improvement of existing ones, ensuring all documentation is relevant and up to date.
- Target inefficiencies quickly using problem solving techniques such as 5 whys, A3 and Root Cause Analysis.
- Support, cost estimate and document all engineering changes.
- Ensure non-conformances within production are identified, eliminated and controls are in place to prevent reoccurrences.
- Ensure all manufacturing processes are supported by the necessary training, documentation and Quality Controls.
- Understand the requirements of modern machinery ensuring compliance with current legislation and best practice.
- Demonstrate an understanding of current environmental legislation, and future trends.
- Clearly and efficiently communicate vital engineering updates and changes to all levels within the business.
- Carry out targeted improvement events through the use of data and Root Cause analysis.
- Review results gained from improvements to ensure objectives have been achieved.
- Prepare reports and documentation and communicate to team members, senior management team,
- Work closely with the production support teams, maintaining an advocacy of all policies and procedures underpinning the way we do business. Leading by example, you will be one of the supporting functions of all topics associated within the production support teams. Support and Lead projects, driving out waste, reducing downtime and improving OTIFEF delivery to customers.
- Work closely with the Engineering Development Manager, identifying and creating an ongoing road map for engineering to deliver on the company's business goals.
Requirements of the Manufacturing Engineer:
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or alternatively a time served Manufacturing Engineer who's served an apprenticeship and worked within the Mechatronics field would equally be as desirable.
- CNC Programming is highly desirable
- Some experience of plastic processes would also be beneficial.
- All manufacturing industries considered.
- Design experience of Pneumatic controls, electrical controls and can create drawings
- Passionate about lean methodologies and have some training in Six Sigma Green belt Kaizen, 5S, Lean formal qualifications and training.
