A global aerospace leader is looking for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join their Production & Industrial Engineering Fabrication team in Sheffield. This role offers the chance to work on advanced manufacturing processes and tooling for complex aerospace components in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement production and tooling methodologies
- Assist in creating and executing manufacturing plans
- Resolve technical problems applying new engineering principles and technologies
- Collaborate in Lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement projects
- Participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to deliver technical solutions
- Work closely with suppliers, internal teams, and professional associations to develop products and processes

We're seeking a forward-thinking Manufacturing Engineer to join our client's high-performance team at their Derby facility. As the Manufacturing Engineer you'll contribute to the design, development, and optimisation of complex aerospace components that power the future of flight.
As a Manufacturing Engineer you will work as part of a wider team liaising with internal groups, suppliers, and customers as appropriate.
This position is pivotal to ensuring that processes used, and products produced throughout their manufacturing cycle meet the applicable quality standards required by our internal procedures, customers & regulatory bodies with the overall aim of enhancing customer satisfaction.
Working in a team environment you will be instrumental in the resolution of manufacturing issues, performing thorough root cause analysis and the implementation of robust corrective & preventative actions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead project based NPI in-load through gated process and presenting weekly updates to stakeholders.
- Develop manufacturing processes.
- Shopfloor manufacturing support as and when needed.
- Assures product conformance by implementing effective processes.
- Understand and implement customer and regulatory specifications to maintain product integrity.
- Create and review manufacturing routings and BOMs
- Create and review FAIR documentation in line with NPI process.
- Create and maintain effective PFMEA's, including DCM's and Control plans and process flows.
- Create in-process inspection plans; final inspection plans; SOPs; data cards.
- Implement ECRs as required.
- Support NCR closure by investigation and disposition non-conforming product using 5Y, 3C, 8D as applicable, and implement effective RCCA including submission of concession/deviation permit applications as applicable.
- Participate in meetings including daily SQCDP production board meetings.
- Comply with all relevant internal rules, policy and procedures, including those related to Health and Safety, Data Protection and issued Employee Handbook.

- Aerospace industry experience.
- Sheet metal/machining, including special processes experience.

- CAD experience (2D and 3D).

Overview:
We now require an additional Manufacturing Engineer to join the team. Working in modern purpose-built manufacturing facilities for a company that manufacture precision engineered components.
You will be working in a first-class precision engineering environment that have processes such as machining, fabrication and a number of out sourced processes also.
As the Manufacturing Engineer you will be working in a technical role managing projects for the customer from start to finish, ensuring the project is delivered on time and within budget.
You will create manufacturing route cards to ensure the best methods to manufacture liaising with internal departments whilst also managing any external resources required for the project.
The ideal candidate Manufacturing Engineer may have some of the following, however, please note these are only desirable and not essential as all applications will be looked at individually:
- Qualified to HNC level.
