Position Overview

The Chief Risk Office function has Group-wide responsibility for the management and control of all credit, market, operational, enterprise and liquidity risks and has the responsibility of continual development of methods for risk measurement, frameworks and creating a bank wide strong risk culture.

As a Market Risk Manager, you will be responsible for global coverage of Counterparty Portfolio Management (CPM), you will work within a team whose mission is to achieve the effective oversight of the central X – Value Adjustments (xVA) management and capital hedging desk.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Daily monitoring of risk and exposures and driving both the articulation and adherence to risk appetite. This includes ensuring risk completeness and accuracy and that the limit framework and appetite is commensurate with infrastructure and develop and implement the Risks-not-in framework
  • Engage and challenge Front Office (FO) desk heads and senior traders with respect to exposures, new business, market activity, risk culture, controls, and risk appetite; escalate risk exposures and issues as required to senior management within the Chief Risk Office (CRO) function. This would include building out risk management tools appropriate for CPM portfolios to identify potential losses not captured in the standard metrics.
  • Partner with other Risk management functions such as Market Risk Analysis and Control, Methodology, Portfolio, Market Data and associated Working Groups and Committees

Your Skills And Experience

  • Math(s), Sciences, Finance, Business, or other relevant degrees preferred. Masters or higher education is an advantage.
  • Experience in market risk management, either within the second line (market risk) or first line (trading, structuring). Prior asset class experience in xVA, counterparty risk or traded credit is preferred. Experience in roles such as valuation or credit risk will be considered, if the candidate can show a great understanding of the market risks arising from trading positions.
  • Firm understanding of credit, FX, interest rate, and commodity derivative products and related risk methodologies. Ability to understand and explain the impact of financial and economic events on markets and market risk positions.
  • Knowledge/Experience with capital requirement regulations would be advantageous
  • Technical skills in Python, Tableau or similar applications is preferred

The Liquidity Risk team is part of the broader Market and Liquidity Risk Management department and represents the firm's second line of defence to monitor adherence to the firm's market risk appetite.
**MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE**
**Main Purpose and Accountability of the Role**
Specifically you have accountability for supporting the Head of Liquidity Risk for MUS(EMEA) and MUFG London Branch for Liquidity Risk Management for both entities.
**Roles, Scope and Reporting Structure**
Liquidity Risk Manager for MUS(EMEA) and MUFG London Branch receives authority from and reports to the Head of Liquidity Risk for MUS(EMEA) and MUFG London Branch.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
The role holder supports the Head of Liquidity Risk for MUS(EMEA) and MUFG London Branch responsibilities and specifically is responsible for the following:
+ Work closely with the Treasury, Front Office and support departments to establish new business activities and products and ensure key risk issues are highlighted and addressed in the trade approval process.
+ Provide challenge and review to first line functions as per the conventional responsibilities expected of those within a second line control function.
+ Ensure that adequate limits and risk framework are in place aligning with the firm's overall risk appetite and mandates, that risk positions are well managed within the established limits and limit breaches are appropriately escalated.
+ Providing accurate management information to facilitate better business decisions.
+ Maintain oversight over the quality of risk information in reports produced by the reporting team.
+ Engaging where appropriate relevant compliance/control processes and initiatives, e.g. Operational Risk, Internal Audits etc.
+ Engaging as a stakeholder where appropriate in the risk projects and ensuring that this reflects business and functional needs.
+ Keeping up to date with all regulatory liquidity requirements (local and Overseas) and assist with compliance on an on-going basis. This involves pro-active engagement with other areas of the Bank to share understanding of regulatory developments in the liquidity space.
For MUS(EMEA):
+ Monitor internal and external funding and liquidity metrics produced by the 1LoD to ensure that they remain within risk appetite and movements are explained and breaches are escalated to senior management / the regulator in a timely manner.
+ Review and challenge assumptions applied in liquidity metric calculations (e.g. MCO, LCR, NSFR, ALMM).
+ Review regulatory and industry updates (PRA consultation papers / statements of policy / EBA Q&As etc.) and opine on Treasury's interpretation of the guidance.
+ Review and challenge 1LoD owned policies (e.g. ILAAP, Regulatory Reporting Policy, FTP Policy, Contingency Funding Plan (CFP), Funding and Liquidity Risk Policy etc.).
+ Participate in the annual CFP test.
+ Review, challenge and approval of liquidity risk appetite (including limits).
+ Review and challenge EWI triggers and daily monitoring of Treasury/Finance produced metrics.
For MUFG London Branch:
+ Management of MUFG London Branch's internal liquidity risk stress-tests and gap metrics ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of information for the purposes of stress-testing and gap monitoring.
+ Responsibility for monitoring of liquidity risk for internal risk management.
+ Escalation of any vulnerability to Head of Liquidity Risk.
+ Monitoring of liquidity profile relative to liquidity metrics both local and Head Office.
+ Review and challenge EWI triggers.

Relationship with other functions and stakeholders
+ The role holder will manage the following matters, appropriate for LRM, and is responsible for:

What are the key responsibilities of the Role?
In this position, you will:
- Manage and maintain relevant risk registers, including design and documentation of controls
- Prepare accurate and timely risk & control reporting for established governance forums (e.g., Risk Committee, Audit Committee, Executive Committee) driving automation whenever possible
- Engage with Risk and Control Owners, acting as a partner to the business and supporting delivery of capabilities that allow timely, appropriate and transparent risk-reward decisions
- Evaluate risk exposures including the identification, assessment and monitoring of the inherent and residual risks, biggest risk exposures, the third-party risks and any risk concentrations, to enable RTP leadership make informed decisions

Overview
The Financial Crime Solutions team is looking for a Commercial Product Director to help drive delivery of existing and new products, product road-map and strategy by consistently innovating and problem-solving. Role
- Ensure A2A Risk Solutions remains the primary service offering in the UK and Globally.

We have vacancies UK wide for enthusiastic and ambitious individuals to lead and undertake projects in our world class flood risk management team. We are seeking technical experts with a developing technical profile in the flood risk management industry capable of leading on the delivery of hydraulic and hydrological modelling projects, including 1D and 2D models for rivers, surface water and coastal waters with a particular focus on the InfoWorks ICM software.

As a major engineering, environmental and design consultancies AtkinsRéalis offers opportunities for talented consultants to work on a wide variety of projects at a range of scales. We have ongoing projects in flood risk management with a lot of work coming from our frameworks for the Environment Agency and numerous local authorities in England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland, as well as major projects like Sizewell C and Lower Thames Crossing. We are undertaking projects in natural flood management, flood forecasting, flood alleviation and helping water companies with elements of their water resources and water quality issues. Beyond this, we work internationally and have work committed across the globe, including the Red Sea economic zone, Al Bada developments in the middle east, and EIA work in North America. All our projects are run with our colleagues in India, and you will be working as part of an international team.

Requirements:

You should have experience in delivering flood risk projects with a focus on integrated catchment modelling using the ICM software, and the confidence to lead technical work as well as mentor junior team members in developing their skills. You will be able to build strong relationships with our clients with a high degree of collaborative working skills to ensure we get the best from our working relationships with client teams.

Essential for this role:
  • Proven in-depth experience of 1D-2D modelling using InfoWorks ICM.
  • Relevant years of experience in carrying out flood risk analyses for strategy, planning, development, and or design purposesin line with the level of the role.
  • GIS skills in ArcGIS, MapInfo or QGIS.
  • Experience in developing and leading technical teams, supporting and mentoring staff.
  • The ability to use professional judgement to make robust decisions with the information available, a track record of project delivery and performance, meeting client requirements and commercial awareness.

Advantages for this role:
  • Use of other software, like Flood Modeller, TUFLOW / ESTRY or HEC-RAS is an advantage.
  • Experience in FEH hydrological assessment is desirable with a working knowledge of UK hydrology.
