Material Handler

Responsibilities:

To assist in the receipt and distribution of materials delivered from suppliers

To kit and deliver parts to the production cells as required for the proper manufacturing of product

To trigger Kanban cards per the material replenishment process, enabling buyers to ensure parts arrive from suppliers.

Take part in the cycle counting process, including producing count sheets, counting product, reconciling results

As required, partake in the creation, review and implementation of new procedures/work instructions, including suggesting improvements to currently issued procedures.

The average day of a Materials Handler is to handle parts for the Fluke manufacturing cells in line with Standard Work. The role may also include working with the goods in/goods out team to ensure the timely flow of product in and out of the factory.
In addition, operators will be a vital part of suggesting and implementing improvements to Fluke manufacturing processes through our internal improvement business system (FBS)
**Responsibilities:**
+ To handle, store, count and distribute parts, keep working environment in a clean and tidy manner and assist in stock taking as and when required.
+ Responsible for adherence to defined processes in assigned work area, including but not limited to; Standard Work Instructions, 5S Standards, Safe Systems of Work.
+ As appropriate, to train fellow operatives on defined processes as requested by the Materials Control Supervisor.
+ To cycle count inventory and ensure the continued accuracy of on hand inventory, both to support manufacturing and ensure financial bookkeeping accuracy
+ To proactively ensure that inventory presentation is orderly, promoting good stock control and easy, safe access for all Operators
**Experience:**
+ The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced environment.
+ Prior experience in a warehouse environment or with inventory presentation
+ Previous experience of using a counter balance fork lift is desirable but not essential
**Personal Skills:**
+ PC Literacy including Microsoft Office
+ A positive, can-do attitude

Essential Functions:



ick, pack, sort, arrange, count, store, and correctly process items for storage and/or shipment in accordance with established procedures and customer requirements while sustaining a high level of quality to ensure customers receive correct product and in the time requested.


Receive materials and/or finished goods on a daily basis. Verify the quality, type and amount of materials received are correct and that the appropriate documentation is present (e.g. packing list).


Work in a warehouse environment under various temperatures including room temperature (59–86 degrees F), cold-room (36-46 degrees F), and/or freezer-room (minus 4 – 23 degrees F).

Safely operate distribution equipment, as required.



Culture and Expectations:



Be able to work in a warehouse Environment


Will wear PPE when required (High Vis Vest, Closed toed shoes, lab coats)


Warehouse environment, locker rooms, break rooms, etc.


Safety oriented and organized throughout the location.

Dealing with chemical products for universities and research facilities for life science initiatives, cures for diseases, etc.


May need to work at 1 of 3 buildings throughout the week, but will remain at a building for the day. (all within half a mile)



Requirements:



The proven ability to consistently and independently follow policies and procedures, instructions, and to meet schedules required.  br>

Good interpersonal skills to work with other members of the team


Willing to take someone just out of school with little to no work experience



Preferred Skills:



Able to operate powered industrial trucks and with the ability to operate the equipment at various heights if needed (not common)


Shipping or warehouse Experience  br>

Some experience in logistics with a life science company preferred.



Degree/Certifications:



High School Diploma
