The role is working in the production/ machining of metal parts for a variety of manufacturing clients throughout the UK and Europe. 

The Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and operating of the  Press Machine and other similar machinery to manufacture components for our internal assembly flow lines, ensuring the highest quality and timely delivery.

Duties:

• Set up the press with the correct tooling (dies, collar, blanks etc) to suit the spec of job required.
li>Follow the correct production processes  li> Responsible for striking the correct number of components required from the works order li>QC the completed work with the QC packing team to ensure the product is ready for dispatch
• Carry out daily maintenance and cleaning of the press ready for the next order
• Ensure Health & Safety is carried out and followed

Suitable Candidate:

• Previous experience of setting and operating machinery is necessary
li>Competent in reading and understanding engineering drawings and able to inspect work using a range of measurement equipment
• Preference will be given to candidate who have previous experience in CNC Milling or CNC Turning machine setter

Hours : 8 am - 4.30 pm Monday - Friday with 2 x 15 minutes paid break and half hour unpaid.

Hours of work are:

4 days on, 4 days off 8am to 8pm (which includes weekends) - Training provided

Our prestigious client based in Brownhills area is looking for quality staff to work in a foundry environment, dressing and making moulds for sand cores for manifolds and car parts. This is delicate work, that requires attention to detail.

Pay starts at 14.00 per hour - increases to 16.00 per hour after 12 weeks

Duties of a Machine Operator

• Will be operating Core Making / Mould making machines
• Inspecting and dressing the moulds by hand - correcting any imperfections
• Filing and painting to seal the sand
• Quality Inspection to a high standard
• Using hoists, PPT and pump trucks
• Working to targets

Experience required for a Machine Operator

• Previous factory work / machine operating work
• Worked within a foundry or mould making / core making environment before
• Be able to change tools, fixtures and fittings previous setting experience would be an advantage
• Understanding the work flow process
• Use hoists or PPT and pump trucks
• Must be numerate and literate and be able to complete the paperwork for the role
• Previous manufacturing and production experience an advantage - but training is provided

• Able to work both day shift and night shift as this role will involve shifts alternating after each shift.

Product

1. Operate machines as per process sheet specification - ensuring you have the approved setting used for each batch of product.
2. Make sure that correct batch codes are recorded on process sheet for all products. Machine temperature sheets to be filled as you go.
3. Meet the agreed target as set for your area
4. Make sure all the products sealed up - carry out the company NO WASTE policy
5. Cooperate with the Team Leaders on Production Line and Finishing Line to ensure that products are ready on time and of good quality.
6. Quality and consistency of product is critical - THIS IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY - report any problems which affect quality and consistency.
7. Ensure that all products applied with correct codes.
8. Efficient cooperative team member

Hygiene & Cleaning Systems

1. Respect and obey the company hygiene rules.
2. Operate Standard Operating Procedures for cleaning in machine operating areas.
3. Operate CLEAN AS YOU GO in your area.
4. Report to QA Manager/Production Supervisor any quality/cleaning/hygiene or foreign body issues.
5. Report any machine maintenance or structural and equipment issues.
6. Do not clock out at end of day until you have agreed this with your supervisor.
7. Help production line when required.
