to join a UK known FMCG manufacturer in the Worthing area!
With no day ever being the same, the Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer will be involved in the central processes of an environment undergoing large expansion! Below outlines the day to day responsibilities:
Role & Responsibilities:
- Working as part of team
- Complete PPM and reactive breakdown maintenance on manufacturing/ industrial/ FMCG machinery to maximize equipment performance
- Diagnosing and resolving electrical faults across single- and three-phase systems
- Conduct electrical fault-finding with quick response and rectification.
- Perform activities on 3-phase and single-phase power.
- Perform activities on motors, pumps, metal detectors, flow wrappers, ultrasonic cutters and packaging equipment etc.
- Source and replace spare parts as needed
- Support continuous improvement projects on existing and new machinery
- Ensure all work complies with safety and quality standards
- Other duties as required
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Time-served or formally qualified in engineering - experience favoured
- 17th/18th Edition and experience in FMCG/industrial settings
- Electrical bias with mechanical capability; welding experience desirable
- Knowledgeable of both electrical and mechanical duties, with a bias to electrical
- PLC fault finding experience is beneficial
- Hands on and enjoys getting stuck in
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (mechanical and electrical)
- Familiarity with pneumatics and PLCs is a plus
- Knowledge of CAD systems is a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills

JobSummary
To provide effective maintenance support across mechanical, electrical, and automation systems in a fast-paced FMCG production environment. The role ensures maximum equipment availability, minimal downtime, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes through proactive and reactive maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on production machinery.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, diagnosing and repairing faults to minimize downtime.
- Maintain and improve mechanical, electrical, and control systems including conveyors, motors, pumps, pneumatics, hydraulics, PLCs, and other automation equipment.
- Support continuous improvement projects to enhance plant efficiency, safety, and reliability.

- Record all maintenance activities in CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System).
