This is an excellent opportunity to take on a pivotal role within a high-performing fund services team, contributing to the delivery of exceptional accounting, reporting and regulatory support. The Opportunity As Senior Fund Accountant, you'll play a central role in overseeing the accounting and reporting for a portfolio of UK open-ended investment funds. You will take ownership for reviewing financial statements, tax returns and regulatory filings, while also driving enhancements across processes and contributing subject matter expertise to business-wide projects. In addition, you'll act as a point of knowledge and guidance across the department, supporting the development of Fund Accountants and Fund Operations Administrators and ensuring operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Prepare and review semi-annual and year-end financial statements in line with accounting standards, liaising with auditors to resolve queries and meet deadlines. Oversee daily NAV pricing and sign-off processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Review and submit regulatory/statutory filings, dividend distributions, Corporation Tax and VAT returns. Support fund documentation updates, budgeting and forecasting, and preparation of board and committee materials. Contribute SME input to cross-departmental projects and lead continuous improvement initiatives. Provide coaching and guidance to colleagues, helping to develop knowledge and capability across the team. What You'll Bring Qualified Accountant (ICAS, ACCA or equivalent) with relevant post-qualified experience. Strong knowledge of fund accounting regulations, including IA SORP and FCA COLL (advantageous) Experience reviewing and quality-checking work, and providing clear guidance to others. Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly. Description

  • To provide a proactive and technical service to the business on the interpretation and guidance of the FCA's rules (and any other relevant regulatory or legal issues that may apply);
  • To provide impact assessment and gap analysis for any new FCA initiatives;
  • Contribute to and take the lead in regulatory change and business change projects as required;
  • 'Local' Consumer Duty and Product Governance Champion/SME for Compliance and Compliance lead for Vulnerable Customers;
  • Compliance lead for SMCR and TC;
  • Maintenance and improvement of Compliance policies in line with best practice and engagement with the business to ensure the embedding of said policies;
  • Coordinate and deliver Compliance training, including induction training.

Profile
