Our client is based in London and has a team of over 60 in-house engineers, covering Geotechnics, Structures, Geoenvironmental, and now, marine and maritime engineering. Our client is looking for an Associate Maritime Engineer to join their team and get a seat at the top table from day one.
The successful candidate will essentially be a number 2 to the Managing Director of the Maritime Engineering team, mixing technical work and performance with operation and commercial growth tasks to create an intricately balanced role. You will be provided with the ideal opportunity to work on a vast array of Maritime projects throughout the UK and Europe, with our client looking to expand beyond these boundaries at the earliest opportunity.
Candidates must have:
- A degree (preference for MSc) in Civil Engineering or Maritime Engineering
- Experience in designing Maritime projects – Ports and Harbours, Bridges, Quay Wall, Pontoon, Jetty, etc.
- 10-15 years’ total experience
- Achieved Chartered Engineer status
- The right to live and work in the UK – Sponsorship may be possible

The Requirements Team SMEs will work with the Courseware and Media Teams to identify technical data requirements for the development of Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) courseware and media. Having identified the data requirements, the Requirements Team SME will work with the courseware and media content developers to contextualise training and language and ensure correct conditions and standards are applied to the training solution.
**Skills** **and Experience**
+ Proven at sea experience as a Cat A or Cat B Nuclear watchkeeper.
**Desirable**
+ PWR 2.
+ Electrical Background.
+ Fwd ME duties.
+ Training requirements, design or delivery.
+ Member of a Boat Build Crew
+ DE&S/SDA.
**Responsibilities**

Our coastal team has an excellent track record in delivering coastal policy, management, and design projects both within the UK and internationally. We sit on several coastal frameworks and also undertake a range of work for private sector clients. We provide the complete coastal and marine service from front end feasibility projects, hydraulic modelling, environmental coastal management, climate adaptation, business case and economic appraisal, outline and detailed design of coastal structures, harbours, marinas and developments.
Our Graduates gain valuable experience working on a variety of global projects alongside a multitude of different disciplines. Our graduates are encouraged to develop their understanding of many elements within the water industry, such as hydraulic, structural and environmental design through calculations, report writing and use of engineering software. Undertake overtopping assessments using the Eurotop manual

Design of coastal and maritime structures e.g. revetements, sea walls, quay walls, jetties, flood walls, steel sheet piling, lock and dock gates.
Input to costing of coastal structures and economic appraisal

Develop BIM and 3D model skills and experience
