Job Purpose, Tasks and Responsibilities :

The main focus of our Health and Safety Trainer is to deliver our Health, Safety and Environmental training programmes, including accredited courses such as NEBOSH, IOSH and IEMA, as well as bespoke programmes for our multinational client base.

You will also contribute to learning design and course content development, provide tutor support, and assist with HS&E consultancy projects.

You will be responsible for:

Delivering IOSH and NEBOSH (and potentially IEMA) accredited training, predominantly via virtual classroom, with some face-to-face sessions at venues or client premises.
Developing and updating course materials such as notes, PowerPoint presentations and lesson plans to meet syllabus or client needs.
Providing subject matter expertise to support our Learning Design and Course Development team.
Responding to learner queries via email, phone, discussion forums and Linked In, offering guidance on technical issues and learning requirements.
Marking mock exams and providing feedback.
Supporting learners with practical assignments.
Managing tailored HS&E training projects with clients.

To be successful in this role, it would be great if you have:

Experience delivering accredited H&S and Environmental training courses in-person and virtually.
A proven track record of successfully delivering NEBOSH General Certificate or Diploma and/or IEMA courses.
Experience delivering NEBOSH Specialist Certificates and Awards.
Experience developing high-quality training materials aligned with a syllabus or tailored to client specifications.

The SMS Safety Promotion and Training Lead is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing safety promotion and training strategies within the BDUK and aligned with the Boeing Enterprise SMS. **Essential competencies and experience:**
+ Eligibility for UK SC Security Clearance: Applicants must be able to obtain the necessary clearance.
+ Significant experience in safety promotion and training in an aviation SMS context.
+ Aviation operational experience in engineering, maintenance or flying.
+ Experience in the application of current MAA and/or other regulatory safety requirements in an SMS context.

You’ll be forward-thinking, diligent & enthusiastic who is willing to travel around the UK, we have 28 centres around the UK, however, we will aim to ensure that you are based locally as much as possible. You will also deliver some remote courses.


You will also be required to work some weekends on a shift basis.


Responsibilities


  • You’ll mostly deliver our Site Safety Plus Courses (HSA, SSSTS & SMSTS), First Aid Courses, IOSH, as well as a range of other courses.
  • There will be a mix of mostly in-person courses; however, there will also be some remote courses.
  • To always operate in line with CST Training values and behaviours and implement our policies and standards.
  • You’ll be responsible for delivering courses like:
  • CITB related courses
  • IOSH related courses
  • Opportunity to develop your assessing skills to be able to deliver and assess ILM Level 5 Leadership and Management related qualifications and NVQ Level 2 and above construction industry related qualifications


Qualifications


Essential Qualifications Needed:


  • Please note: it is beneficial if you have one of the qualifications listed, however, we are willing to help you gain the qualifications if you are the right fit.
  • Any one or more of these qualifications:
  • NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Safety and Health
  • NVQ/SVQ Level 3, 4, 5 or 6 in Occupational Safety and Health
  • Health and Safety degree
  • NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health Part 2, NEBOSH Units A, B, C and D
  • Diploma Safety Management Level 6
  • A minimum of three years of occupational experience in a construction or health & safety related management role, that you can evidence.


Required Skills


  • Excellent communication, IT and written skills
  • Clean driving license
  • Great people skills
  • Superb self-management skills
  • Up to date CPD (min 12 months)
  • Solid experience and competency across several disciplines
  • CITB Site Safety Plus (Approved Tutor Certificate) or willing to work towards this
  • Adult Teaching Qualification (AET) or equivalent, or willing to work towards this

We’re looking for a dynamic Health & Safety Trainer to deliver engaging, high-quality training to operational staff and apprentices, both at our modern Peterborough training centre and at client locations. If you're someone with hands-on health and safety experience, ideally in utilities or construction, and a drive to share knowledge, this is the perfect opportunity.


What You'll Do

• Deliver engaging, effective short-duration training sessions across a variety of key safety subjects (e.g. IOSH, First Aid, Working at Height, Confined Spaces, Risk Assessment and more)

• Design and tailor training packages to meet defined outcomes and learning objectives

• Maintain high standards in delivery, aligned with industry best practice and internal quality assurance

• Build and sustain strong client relationships with professionalism and integrity

• Work towards an individual utilisation target of 80%


What We’re Looking For

You are a confident communicator with a solid grounding in health and safety—and ideally hold:

• A NEBOSH qualification (essential)

• Assessor qualifications such as D32/D33, A1, or TAQA (highly desirable)

• A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel

• A proactive, customer-focused attitude and strong organisational skills

• Experience training diverse learner groups (preferred, but not essential—training support provided)

Bonus points if you've delivered training in:

• Trench Support, Excavation Safety, or Cable Avoidance


Key Skills

• Excellent communication, coaching, and presentation skills

• Ability to create and adapt engaging training materials

• Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Email)

• Strong team player with a collaborative mindset
