The Senior Software Engineer work s with our Global Content Delivery teams to deliver exabytes of content for our brands globally. The S enior Software Engineer has a highly skilled combination of engineering and operations skills and is focused on automating and improving operations. WBD's Global Content Delivery team members are responsible for the management and governance of all media delivery infrastructure for Max, D+, CNN, and other WBD brands globally. You will be involved from the initial design phase of figuring out the right network topology for our clients to the final stages of deploying and setting up hardware, networking, monitoring, alerting, and logging. The role requires good problem-solving skills and the ability to work across several teams and partner groups. We're looking for candidates who love to learn and can adapt quickly.
**Your Role Accountabilities.**
+ Build the orchestration build systems for managing fleets of remotely deployed servers
+ WBD's Global Content Delivery team manages servers globally, which help deliver media to our customers globally for our largest brands. You will be a core contributor to managing the automation systems that power the control plane for these remote edge sites.
+ Work in a full stack environment, from the control plane layer, down to physical hardware lifecycles
+ Be a key member of the team responsible for the entirety of our entire stack, contributing to the global control plane, to working on new revisions of hardware to deployed to the field. This team works the full stack from software, networking, operating system, to the hardware and network gear level.
+ Design, write and deliver software and infrastructure to improve the reliability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of our services.
+ Bring new technology thinking and lead developers to embrace new tools and innovative solutions to solve business needs.
+ Guide Engineers to design, develop, and test for reliability, and to automate tasks for applications.
+ Solve problems relating to mission-critical services and create solutions to prevent problem recurrence, with the goal of automating response to all non-exceptional service conditions.
+ Influence and create new designs, architectures, standards, and methods for large-scale distributed systems.
+ Engage in service capacity planning, service integration and geo-expansion, software performance analysis and system tuning.
+ Candidate must be solutions-oriented oriented using rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions, probing all sources for answers.
+ Conduct on-call duties.
+ Help troubleshoot incidents to address failure patterns, automate remediation through runbooks, and document application optimisation.
+ Enable the Cloud, DevOps, Continuous Integration, and Test automation & Monitoring strategies.
+ Coordinate with the Applications team to satisfy all non-functional project requirements (security, performance, scalability, and resiliency).
+ Proven track record building/supporting/scaling a high transactional 24x7 environment.
+ Collaborate with the Platform Engineering team to build tools to help automate deployments.
+ Coordinate with relevant teams to build useful tools to support network operations (internal and external).
**Qualifications and Experience.**
+ At least 5 years of experience within Software Engineering and proficient in one of the following: Golang, Python, Java or Node.js
+ Passionate about SRE, DevOps, Automation, and infrastructure platforms.
+ Must excel with agile and lean development practices and manage multiple priorities and multiple roles.
+ BS Degree in Computer Science, Physics, Engineering or Mathematics or equivalent experience.
+ Experience with build automation and CI/CD.
+ Expertise with monitoring or log aggregation tools.
+ Experience working AWS cloud services
+ Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker/Kubernetes.
+ Expertise in problem solving and analysing global scale systems and critical production service environments.
+ Strong debugging, testing/validation, and analytics/SQL(AO), skills, Apache,
+ Experience working with Agile methodologies (Scrum) and cross-functional teams.
+ Understand the mechanical sympathy between software workloads and the demand it places on the underlying hardware.

Candidate Requirements

Reporting to the Manufacturing Director and with a multi-disciplined supply chain team reporting into you, you will be responsible for:

Currently a Supply Chain Manager, Materials Manager or Supervisor within a manufacturer, you will be experienced in working in an assembly engineering environment. Experience in a business driven by technical drawings and BOMs is essential. You will be experienced in the full end to end supply chain management with experience of managing planning, materials and warehouse management. You will be an excellent relationship builder and a highly effective leader. You will be numerate and analytical and be proven in working in a structured yet collaborative way. Experienced and proven in developing high performing teams is key. MRP experience is essential.
