Reporting into the cosmetic team leads, the principal objective of this role is to ensure that vehicles are prepared in accordance with the required reconditioning standards.
Their paint technicians play a crucial role, ensuring that vehicles meet specific performance and quality standards by enhancing the appearance of their vehicle’s paintwork.
As a paint technician, your day-to-day job will include applying primer, basecoat, clear coat, and preparing vehicles ready for the paint process. You will have access to new booths, spray guns, market leading products and all the required PPE.

About the Role:
We are looking for a highly skilled Paint Technician / Paint Sprayer to join an existing team of experts with an eye for detail and a finesse to their skill. You will be responsible for the paint lifecycle of luxury vehicles working to bespoke and custom specifications. This role requires a broad range of skills including paint preparation, spray painting, tinting, and colouring ensuring the application of base coasts, primers, lacquers, finishes are flawless.
The Duties and Responsibilities as a Paint Technician:
- Preparation of panels for painting including prime, prep and masking
- Carry out full re-sprays and necessary repairs using various spraying techniques
- Application of basecoats, primers, lacquers, and finishes
- Working with a variety of paints including;
- Water and solvent based
- Clear over base
- Solid and two-pack
- Metallics, 3-stage Pearlescents, Candies, Matte lacquer, Satin, or Gloss finishes
- Special mixes
- Ensuring vehicles are flawless with no drip marks, tear backs or defects
- Flattening and polishing using specialist methods
- Ensure all parts and panels are audited with relevant sign off.
- Occasional panel repair (filler work) and light strip & refit
The Ideal Paint Technician:
- Must have extensive hands-on experience of whole vehicle spray painting.
- Background in classic restoration, motorsport, or high-end vehicle builds is a major advantage
- Experience with carbon fibre components is desirable
- Meticulous attention to detail and pride in your work
- Confident working independently or as part of a team
- Good understanding of Health & Safety and COSHH regulations
- Flexibility to work overtime when required
Hours & Pay:
- Hours: Day Shift: Monday – Thursday (7:00 AM – 4:30 PM), Friday (7:00 AM – 12.45 PM). Overtime opportunities available.
- Umbrella Pay: £30 per hour paid via PAYE Umbrella model
