We are looking for an experienced **PKI Consultant to join our Cloud Services Team** to deploy and maintain customer facing PKI software services. Handling 3rd line escalations for EMEA Managed Services.

The successful candidate will be furnished with tools and bespoke training on Entrust software. We will introduce you to our service platforms and enable you to become responsible for adding new services and maintaining existing ones. Our services issue digital certificates that power the UK banking industry, ensuring the integrity of high value transactions and supporting our customers' IT interactions worldwide.
We ensure that attention to detail is applied to issue and renew certificates correctly and on time. Your team will rely upon your documentation and enhancements to improve our processes and ensure resiliency. In this role, you'll build up your customer-facing skillset as a consultant in support of the UK Cloud Services Team.
We provide learning opportunities in modern technologies such as containerisation and new cryptographic standards. You will earn autonomy to contribute to designs and improvements, to produce automation and work with our partner teams in Canada and the US. You will have opportunities to take the lead in problem triage and resolution.
**About the Candidate:**
PKI experience not required, but advantageous. Candidates must have professional experience with Linux OS (or equivalent) and be comfortable working at the command line within secure environments. Customer facing skills are desirable. As a Consultant, you will be starting in a Senior position and some mentoring of colleagues is expected.
Hybrid working is available following probationary period. Applicants must have their own transport and be able to attend the Newbury office on a regular basis. Applicants must be permanent UK resident, be able to achieve UKSV SC clearance and have the right to work in the UK.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Configure Entrust PKI software packages within Entrust Managed Services' methodologies.
+ Develop new and enhance existing customer services and documentation.
+ Apply a Consultant mindset to problem solving and work with our customers to find solutions.
+ Participate in customer facing Key Signing and renewal ceremonies.
+ Contribute to monitoring and automation improvements.
+ Support our Project Management team to ensure timely delivery.
+ Learn about new Entrust products and evaluate in lab environment.
+ Evaluate available product upgrades to determine customer suitability.
+ Self-management within a dynamic environment.
+ Become a trusted expert in PKI and digital certificates.
+ Working according to secure practices.
+ Develop personal skills with Linux OS.
+ Take technical responsibility for key accounts with UK Managed PKI.
+ Perform issue triage and share knowledge gained with colleagues.
+ Occasional out-of-hours support and acceptance of on-call rota responsibility.
+ Occasional travel to Entrust datacenter or customer site within the UK (typically under 6 times/annum).
**Basic Qualifications and Experience:**
+ (Required) Bachelor's degree in computer science or information systems, or
equivalent professional experience and education.
+ (Required) 3 years professional experience/demonstrable proficiency with Linux OS (or equivalent)
+ (Required) Professional experience with application integration
+ Business software service monitoring and management experience.
+ (Required) Must have unrestricted work authorisation for UK.
+ (Required) Ability to obtain a Government Security Clearance.
**Additional desirable experience:**
+ Knowledge of PKI, SSL or Identity technologies.
+ Working knowledge of HSM devices.
+ Experience with scripting, e.g. Bash.
+ Experience creating regular expressions
+ Good communication skills and the ability to operate independently as well as within a team.
+ Experience in working in secure environments.
+ General understanding of networking principles, including TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, etc.
+ Experience with SIEM solutions (Splunk).
+ Basic programming experience (Java, C#).
+ Experience with automation tools, such as Ansible or Terraform.

**Purpose of this Role**
Affirm national standards have been achieved and upheld
Monitor through external examiner sampling and visit activities, centres' compliance with Pearson quality assurance expectations for RQF BTEC Higher National programmes
Support centres during the sampling process
Support centres in the delivery of BTEC Higher National programmes to national standards.
**Key Accountabilities**
Covering a defined range of programmes within a sector, the External Examiner (EE) will:
Undertake sampling of assessed student work within defined parameters and rules to establish that centres are assessing learning outcomes in accordance with Pearson standards for its Higher National qualifications
Provide sampling-related support and development to centres
Produce reports for centres and Pearson on the sampling undertaken, outcomes reached, and support provided
Apply appropriate sanctions in consultation with the team leader where it is deemed assessment outcomes are not consistent with the published national standards being met
Produce targeted actions for centres to assist with remedial actions where national standards are not being upheld
Support centres to understand and implement identified actions
Facilitate the Senior External Examiner (SEE) in sourcing materials for training and standardisation
Report back to Pearson and centres following EE activity within agreed service-level agreements
Undertake any other duties appropriate to the work of Technical and Professional Assessment in relation to this role
**Previous Experience:** **Essential:**
Significant experience in delivering and assessing BTEC Higher National qualifications in the subject area
Hold a qualification at least at Level 6 and a full and relevant competence qualification for working in the sector
Participation annually in online training and standardisation and successful completion of the set standardisation activity
**Desirable:**
Evidence of recent Continuous Professional Development (CPD) in the sector
A willingness to use technology-based approaches to communication and centre support
**Skills and Knowledge** **Essential:**
Excellent communication, written, verbal, IT and interpersonal skills
