**Your role and responsibilities**
As a Senior Front End Developer, you'll be at the forefront of our digital product development, driving innovation and excellence in front-end engineering. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality frontend solutions by setting the coding standard, shaping the architecture, guiding engineering practices, and lead the team through complex technical challenges in large scale digital transformation projects. As part of a project senior technical leadership team, you will also contribute to stakeholder management and strategic planning at account level.
Responsibilities:
* Lead the frontend development of complex web applications using modern JavaScript libraries and frameworks (React, Next.js, Vue.js etc.).
* Define technical architecture, patterns, and practices for scalable, maintainable, and high-performing frontend solutions.
* Act as technical lead on projects - setting direction, ensuring code quality, and aligning delivery with client needs.
* Mentor and support junior and mid-level developers, promoting a culture of learning, quality, and continuous improvement.
* Collaborate closely with designers, backend developers, DevOps, QA, and other stakeholders to drive end-to-end delivery.
* Collaborate closely with stakeholders to translate business requirements into clear technical design and requirement, and in turn into compelling user experiences.
* Define and lead implementation of development workflows, CI/CD pipelines, testing strategies, and release processes.
* Communicate technical decisions and trade-offs clearly to clients and internal stakeholders.
**Required technical and professional expertise**
* Deep practical experience with modern JavaScript and its libraries and frameworks like React, Next.js, Vue.js or similar.
* Strong understanding of design systems, component libraries, and working closely with UX/UI teams.
* Proven track record in technical leadership roles, leading delivery teams in complex, multi-environment projects.
* Strong understanding of frontend architecture, including performance, security and compliance, accessibility, and scalability considerations.
* Experience defining the implementation of robust testing strategies (unit, integration, E2E) and managing quality in delivery pipelines.
* Strong understanding of DevOps practices and tooling relevant to frontend development.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills - able to engage with clients, present solutions, and explain technical concepts clearly.
* Experience working in agile, cross-functional teams, with an understanding of effective delivery methodologies.
* Outstanding problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.

As a Global Practice Architect for Public Sector for Google Cloud, you will bring your experience and thought leadership and operational mindset to help drive the goal, mission, and strategy around the Public Sector GTM approach. The goals of the Global Practice Architect function are to design and manage the constructions of plays that include a complete GTM bill of materials, as measured by reaching our growth targets for that practice (collection of products) in that fiscal year. The GTM bill of materials will include sales assets, orchestration models, propensity modeling, field activation, offers and incentives, business value, partners and services strategy and more. You will orchestrate across numerous contributing teams including solutions, services, partners, product engineering, marketing, and GTM stakeholder organizations in Regional and Global teams, including peer Practice Architects supporting other products within the same practice area, to facilitate the successful design, implementation and refinement of the overall strategy. The Global Practice Architect is accountable for the strategy, construction and management of the plays they manage in their practice area.
You will showcase strong leadership capabilities and strategic thinking by designing and orchestrating the right model for Google Cloud's objectives and the current market landscape. You will partner with key cross-functional stakeholders to develop and iterate on the plan. You will interface directly with customers, both helping them to understand Google Cloud's offerings and gathering their feedback. **Your role and responsibilities**

You will be working at IBM on a Public Sector client facing project. You will also spend some of your time studying for your Digital and Technology Solutions degree apprenticeship at one of IBM's university partners.

Your Apprenticeship
As a Digital and Technology Solutions Degree apprentice, you will develop a broad range of technical and business skills, including information systems, systems development, data, business organisations, project management and computer & network infrastructure. You will also take modules to develop your skills in a technical specialism.
There's an opportunity to experience University life and meet apprentices from other organisations during days at university and interactive learning sessions.
As a Digital and Technology Solutions Degree apprentice we have the following specialisms for roles in 2025:

**Required technical and professional expertise**

Start dates for 2025
We are looking for Apprentices who will start on 6th October 2025, with a 2-week induction - please note we cannot make any exceptions to this start date.
