A prominent engineering consultancy with a strong presence in the mining sector is seeking an experienced Principal Geotechnical Engineer to be based in **Aberdeen, Scotland, UK**. This role requires an individual with a deep understanding of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and foundation engineering, specifically as applied to mining operations. You will lead complex geotechnical investigations and design projects, ensuring the safety and stability of mine infrastructure, including open pits, underground excavations, and tailings management facilities.   • Interpret soil and rock mechanics data and perform advanced numerical modelling.
  • Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports, design documentation, and risk assessments.
  • Provide expert technical advice and support to project teams and clients.
  • Mentor and guide junior geotechnical engineers, fostering technical development.
  • Contribute to business development activities and proposal preparation.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
Required Qualifications:
  • Master's or PhD in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
