Join our dynamic Nature team as an Principal Ecologist in our growing Cambridge, Basingstoke, Croydon, Leeds, Nottingham, Newcastle, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Bristol, Dublin, and Cork (though other locations may be considered), and benefit through our flexible hybrid working model. Presently, we are working on a wide range of projects, notably in the power and renewables, infrastructure, environment and transport sectors, as well as collaborating with other technical disciplines such as landscape, GIS, engineering, sustainability and drainage. Our recent projects have included several of the largest solar farms to have gained consent in the UK; a cable tunnel below the River Thames; electricity network upgrades in Kent and Suffolk; habitats regulations assessments of various plans and projects for local authorities; and masterplanning of new residential developments for local authorities.

Lead and support delivery of high-quality ecological consultancy and advisory services to both internal and external clients
Oversee plan, schedule and organise all phases of ecological project work, ensuring necessary resources, budgets and controls are in place to meet both programme and budget requirements.
Support development of technically robust and pragmatic solutions to complex ecological issues.
Lead and support production of ecology chapters for environmental statements and protected species licence applications.
Author or technically check project deliverables to ensure high quality outputs.
Support the continued development of our technical capabilities.

Degree (or equivalent) in ecology or an associated subject.
Membership of an appropriate professional institution and working towards or obtained Chartered Ecologist or Chartered Environmentalist status, and a holder of protected species survey and/or mitigation licences.
Experience of leading and managing ecological surveys/licensing/impact assessment, as demonstrated by suitable professional experience.
Experience in work-winning, managing projects, project budgets and leading stakeholder discussions.

Join our dynamic and multidisciplinary Water Team as a Principal Hydrologist in one of our UK offices u2013 whilst also taking advantage of our flexible hybrid working model. At this exciting time, you will manage resources and identify training requirements across our northern modelling teams. This role has not been previously defined and is yours to develop, with the support of a national modelling community.
_Hereu2019s what youu2019ll do:_
**Deliver** : Technically lead flood hydrological assessments which are assisting the design of flood alleviation schemes, flood risk assessments or the preparation of Environment Agency flood maps. Technically review reports documenting hydrological assessments.

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or another relevant discipline.
Chartered member of ICE or CIWEM.
Significant experience in leading the estimation of flood flows using FEH and REFH2 and rating reviews.
Deep understanding of statistical hydrological analysis.
Demonstration of working with hydraulic modellers to calibrate hydraulic models.
Strong GIS skills using QGIS, ArcGIS and / or MapInfo and familiarity with Hydrology+.

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or another relevant discipline.
Chartered member of ICE or CIWEM.
Significant experience in leading the estimation of flood flows using FEH and REFH2 and rating reviews.
Deep understanding of statistical hydrological analysis.
Demonstration of working with hydraulic modellers to calibrate hydraulic models.
Strong GIS skills using QGIS, ArcGIS and / or MapInfo and familiarity with Hydrology+.

To be the CPM (Retail Packaging) Engineering specialist within a team of Multiskilled Engineers and Managers.
You will work, day’s, ensuring that you train and optimise the Shift Engineering teams with a long-term personal drive to progressing upwards into a management role.
The Role is to take the newly restructured team to a high performing level, with accountability, ownership and quality being the core values.
Additionally, you will be instrumental in driving the resolution to the Top 5 breakdowns, closing out reoccurring failures in maintenance and issues causing operations to fall behind on hourly pack rates.
You will be expected to work tenaciously within a team of Multiskilled Engineers in a fast paced and high performing environment.
Using your wealth of knowledge from retail packing environments, provide a quick response and resolution to issues that cause down time and risks to operations such as plan attainment and losses costs (Give-away, Pack-rate, Wastage)
Taking a proactive approach and utilising a CI methodology - you will drive forward the availability of all the CPM / Retail equipment and plan to maintain rather than repair – additionally, you must have a sound knowledge of automation, experience of preventative maintenance and ideally be from a Food/FMCG environment.
You will be expected to fault find both mechanically and electrically with proven skills overlapping both areas – You will possess strong analytical skills with the ability to break down and solve complex problems in a logical and structured manner.
With a real can-do attitude, you will bring your individual difference to Kepak Merthyr, while appreciating the diversity within the team, you will pay meticulous attention to detail and be able to prioritise your work and deal with high pressure situations and ambiguous issues.

What you will be doing:
- Operating in production, manufacturing and office environments being a proactive and diligent individual with excellent communication skills able to Work autonomously and as part of a team with the ability to engage and collaborate at all business levels
- Monitoring and measure projects and supplier’s adherence to head contract quality management plans and contracted quality assurance requirements
- Attendance and participation in subcontractor and Internal design reviews to ensure compliance and adherence to process is maintained throughout the life cycle of the contract with a view of monitoring program health.
- In process inspection of complex electromechanical systems, sub-systems and equipment, including deliverable software and supporting documentation to achieve right first time manufacture is achieved in accordance with Functional and Non-functional contractual requirements.
- Performing source release/inspection/FAT activity at supplier premises and taking ownership by review/acceptance/sign-off supplier generated documentation in support of deliveries
- Raising non-conformances for all instances where Right First Time (RFT) has not been achieved and progress and manage corrective actions and RCA’s to closure
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Quality background essential (ideally in supplier quality)
- Educated to HND level or have equivalent demonstrable suitable experience
- Willingness to travel nationally on a regular basis
- Full valid UK driving Licence
Desirable:
- Defence background would be an advantage
- Knowledge/experience in using SAP or similar ERP system in a manufacturing environment
