Your Role
The Process Operator has a responsibility to ensure that our Water Recycling treatment processes and systems are serviced and maintained within the relevant regulatory compliance - you'll do this by:
Operating and maintaining our assets including tanks, pumps, screens, blowers, valves, motors, flow meters, compressors and much more.
Performing preventative and reactive servicing and maintenance such as lubrication on the systems above.
Carrying out process sampling to ensure things are operating as they should be and escalating any issues.
Complying with company safety policy & procedures as well as maintaining good housekeeping
Exploring and ensuring that we maintain the lowest possible energy demands without compromising compliance
In this role you must be able to work within a confined space, and at height without restrictions. Due to harness weight limits, your maximum weight cannot be in excess of 113 kilograms and you will be expected to complete relevant occupational health checks

What will you be doing?
You will be one of our Water Recycling Services Works Technicians in the Tilbury and surrounding areas covering a number of sites local to this region. You will visit our Water Recycling Centres to carry out routine maintenance to ensure the sites operate correctly. This is a "hands on job", working outside in all weathers maintaining, monitoring and adjusting treatment processes. The work is varied, at times challenging, and it is unlikely that any two days will be the same.
Some of the duties will include:
Carry out scheduled activities as instructed via a scheduling App or direct from the OMC Technicians or from FLM or Optimiser (as appropriate)
Liaise with OMC to reschedule work plan in order to address any critical compliance issues
Ensure site servicing is carried out in order that process run as effectively and efficiently as possible, and that tasks are carried out in their correct sequence such that compliance is always maintained
Ensure asset care activities (e.g., lubrication schedules) are carried out to required standards
Implementation of agreed actions on Compliance Action Plans.
What does it take to be a Works Technician Process Controller?
Educated to GCSE level, preferably in English and Mathematics
Excellent communication skills
Confidence and ability to deal with people at all levels
Competency with IT systems
Some experience of sewerage design and construction is desirable
Strong administration abilities
A willingness to be flexible and an ability to get on with internal and external customers at all levels is essential

What you’ll be doing as a Day Process Controller
- This role will involve controlling the work processes' day-to-day operation. The successful candidate would be responsible for operating the site according to internal company requirements, a regulatory quality standard, and meeting customer demand.

- Undertaking safety and security checks and taking responsibility for the health and safety of yourself and your colleagues.
Working Pattern or hours: 38 Hours per week - Monday-Friday from 7:30 am to 3:36 pm.
What should you bring to the role?
The essential criteria to help you succeed in this role is:
- Experience working in an operational manufacturing production environment.
- Experience managing or controlling industrial processes in a similar industry.
- Ability to work unsupervised and be prepared to cover shifts if required.
- Understanding of operational health and safety procedures and perimeters.
- Full UK Driving Licence Required.
- Completion of an Engineering NVQ level 2, BTEC, or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Previous experience with SCADA systems would be an advantage.
- Offering a salary between £35,000 o 5,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
