Day-to-day of the role:
- Supervise the Shop Floor to ensure efficient workflow, attendance, and adherence to production schedules.
- Progress-chase jobs through the Shop Floor, collaborating with various teams to proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks, ensuring production schedules are achieved.
- Conduct regular team briefings to communicate priorities, deadlines, and any changes to schedules or processes.
- Escalate issues affecting production or delivery timelines to relevant departments or senior managers.
- Ensure staff follow company procedures, quality standards, and health & safety policies.
- Maintain accurate records of production performance and report regularly to senior management.
- Continuously look for ways to improve processes and increase efficiency.
- Actively involve in production, team, and staff meetings.
- Assist in managing staff conflict professionally, working closely with HR to escalate or resolve issues where necessary.
- Champion continuous improvement, health & safety, and foster a positive work environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a production/manufacturing supervisor or team leadership role
- Strong people management and communication skills.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Proactive approach with good problem-solving skills.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel).
- An interest in engineering would be preferred.
