We are supporting them in their search for a Production Planner to join their supply chain team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with planning experience in FMCG or food manufacturing who wants to join a collaborative and dynamic business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production plans in line with demand forecasts and customer orders.
  • Liaise closely with operations, procurement, and warehouse teams to ensure the effective flow of materials and finished goods.
  • Monitor capacity and production constraints, adjusting plans where necessary to meet service levels and efficiency targets.
  • Utilise ERP/MRP systems to manage planning data accurately.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the planning and scheduling processes.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams to address any potential delays or issues with production.
  • Report on planning KPIs and support the supply chain manager with data and analysis.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Experience in a Production Planning or Scheduling role within food manufacturing or FMCG.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, inventory management, and supply chain coordination.
  • Proficient with ERP/MRP systems (e.g. SAP, Sage, Microsoft Dynamics).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Roles and Responsibilities

To lead on all aspects of production and technical planning, management and delivery for all Barrowland Ballet projects and touring. This includes:

  • Work with the Artistic Director, Producer and colleagues to develop technical and production management plans to achieve creative vision for the work
  • Liaise with the Artistic Director and Producer to establish the design and technical needs of each project, and support the identification and management of specialists required
  • Coordinate the translation of the designs (from models and plans) into specific information required by external builders and suppliers, including technical drawings, sketches, and material specifications, ensuring due consideration is given to the needs of onward touring of the work – including building and touring of the work internationally
  • Liaise with the creative team and external specialists to decide on the appropriate methods of construction for the realisation of the designs
  • Oversee the management of all technical and production assets and equipment required including procurement, hiring, maintenance and storage
  • Support the advance planning of national and international touring, liaising with promoters, venue and festival production teams to ensure Barrowland Ballet’s work continues to presented to the highest standards
  • Lead on the coordination of all technical requirements related to access provision (e.g. captioning and audio description)
  • Lead on the preparation, updating and distribution of all production paperwork required including Technical Information & Specifications; Production Schedules; and Show Reports
  • Create and manage technical and production budgets within agreed parameters
  • Undertake technical operator and stage management roles as required
  • Recruit, manage and support additional freelance technical and production teams
  • Work with the wider Barrowland Ballet team to ensure robust operational and logistical planning across the organisation
  • Develop and implement Health and Safety procedures; ensuring all production and technical elements are compliant with current Health and Safety legislation
  • Act as First Aider at base and on tour (training provided, as necessary)
  • Represent Barrowland Ballet in relevant meetings and forums, supporting the company to build and develop relationships
  • Support the monitoring, reporting and evaluation of work
  • Keep up to date with developments in the technical and production areas of theatre as it relates to the company and contribute to strategic and creative planning

ESSENTIAL

To support this growth, they are looking for a proactive and process orientated Production Engineer to join their manufacturing team.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting daily manufacturing operations, improving production processes, ensuring product quality and driving output capacity. Teamwork and collaboration are at the forefront of their manufacturing operations, to ensure that they deliver to the highest standards.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in a Lean manufacturing environment, driving operational excellence through the application of best practice. Experience in the manufacture and assembly of electro-mechanical products is also a must have.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks
  • Champion Lean Manufacturing principles to identify bottlenecks, reduce waste and embed best practice across production.
  • Design and implement process changes to improve production efficiency, productivity and quality.
  • Specify, design and develop production equipment, jigs and fixtures.

What To Expect

The Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire production process of our limited-run vehicles. This includes planning, coordinating, and controlling manufacturing activities to ensure that our products are produced efficiently, on time, and meet the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for innovation and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Production Planning: Develop and implement production schedules to meet demand whilst optimising resources and maintaining quality standards.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of production workers, ensuring a positive and productive work environment.
  • Quality Control: Establish and enforce quality control procedures to maintain high standards of product quality and consistency.
  • Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and minimise production costs.
  • Stock Control: Develop and implement comprehensive stock control systems to track and manage inventory levels, ensuring optimal stock levels are maintained to support production needs.
  • Purchasing: Oversee the procurement of raw materials, components, and supplies required for production, including sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of materials.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels of raw materials and finished products to ensure timely production and delivery.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure that all manufacturing activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Budget Management: Manage the production budget, monitor expenses, and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, design, and supply chain teams to streamline production processes and address any manufacturing issues.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present regular production reports to senior management, highlighting key performance indicators and progress towards goals.
Other Responsibilities
  • Health and Safety: Champion health and safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulations and fostering a proactive safety culture.
  • Roadmap: Work with the leadership team to produce a future roadmap of vehicles.
What You Will Need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing, Automotive specific experience is a bonus.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control, and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Experience in inventory management, stock control, and purchasing processes within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing production teams and achieving operational goals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across different departments.
  • Proficiency in production management software, inventory control systems, and procurement tools.
  • Passion for automotive innovation and sustainability.

Role Definition:

In the chill production line area, develop and maintain team performance, meeting production targets, protocols, and procedures. Paying special regard to:

  • Quality, cost control, yield, and utilization
  • Health, safety & ethics
  • Product safety, authenticity, and integrity
  • Labelling
  • Company, personal & food hygiene rules and legislation

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Take full ownership and accountability for the performance of the production line, including output, downtime, staffing, and line efficiency. This includes proactively identifying and addressing any barriers to performance — it’s your line, your people, your responsibility.
  2. Produce required products meeting company standards to planned volume and schedule requirements.
  3. Make real-time decisions to minimize downtime or disruption to output, including reallocating labour, escalating faults, or adjusting production flow where necessary.
  4. Ensure necessary replenishment of materials and schedule adherence.
  5. Drive line efficiency and productivity through consistent, correct machine operation and optimal team deployment.
  6. Ensure strict adherence to quality, food safety, hygiene, traceability, labelling, and allergen handling protocols.
  7. Follow the traceability process and ensure product and labelling integrity at all times.
  8. Monitor line performance data daily and take immediate corrective actions if targets are not being met.
  9. Lead by example and maintain high standards of discipline, attendance, and conduct.
  10. Keep and maintain accurate, relevant production and quality records as required.
  11. Provide verbal and written communication to team members, supervisors, and managers to ensure continuity and clarity.
  12. Ensure familiarity and compliance with company policies, procedures, and safe systems of work.
  13. Be flexible and responsive to meet changing production needs and customer requirements.
  14. Support training and development of team members to build a more capable and autonomous workforce.

Personal Specifications:

  • Speaking, writing, and understanding basic spoken and written English language (essential for health & safety, traceability, and quality control).
  • Basic numeracy skills.
  • Quickly, cleanly, and efficiently processing food items in the production line team.
  • Working in a chilled environment.
