What you’ll be doing as a Project Manager
- Manage several projects through their life cycle, including commercial management, risk management and associated reporting.
- Establish and continuously promote a proactive health, safety, and environment culture across complex and high-risk Project portfolios and our service providers.
- Develop and deliver an optimised project to achieve all regulatory, statutory, and internal outputs, deadlines, and targets.
- Accountability throughout the project lifecycle, governance compliance, and effective engagement with internal and external stakeholders lead to the smooth transition of project outcomes into operational business.
- Actively protecting, managing, and enhancing Thames Water’s reputation with external customers and stakeholders.
- Development of project briefs, including supplementary information for the project's subsequent early contractor involvement phase.
- Supporting the development and definition of the tender package(s), including the scope of work to support the Procurement team through each stage of the tender process, ensuring the demanding timescales are met.
- Managing the project's ‘route to consent’ strategy, highlighting program and project risks relating to required consents, and considering any potential early works.
- Managing and assuring the performance of contractors to deliver project outcomes on time, cost, and quality.
A hybrid basis in a London-based office - as per the business needs, you must be on-site or in the office 2 – 3 days a week.
36 hours Monday to Friday
The successful candidate will ideally drive and have access to transportation.

- A background in construction or utilities-based projects.
- A technical education and engineering background.
- Understanding of the project’s life cycle and how to communicate it to both external and internal stakeholders effectively.

Essential experience & skills
- Demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of the automotive & financial sectors. Knowledge and experience of financial services business processes desirable.
- Thorough experience and proven ability to manage external suppliers and budgets.
- Relationship management skills with the ability to influence at all levels internally within the organisation and Brands.
- Supplier management experience including tangible evidence of supplier performance improvements
- Business experience and commercial acumen essential.
- Ability to question and challenge business requirements whilst delivering effective and efficient solutions.

Bonus: Discretionary 10% on-target bonus (based on personal and Group company performance)
