Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Planner to join a dynamic team responsible for the development, management, and delivery of project programmes. The role requires ensuring that programme content is functionally compliant with planning procedures and guidance. The successful candidate will be adept at identifying planning scope, major constraints, contract requirements, and key quantities and factors affecting the programme.
A critical aspect of the role is to utilise advanced expertise during tender stages to collaboratively develop and decisively agree on a strategic and optimised sequence and methodology. This ensures the implementation of the most efficient design, procurement, and construction strategy for the successful delivery of works. The Senior Planner will produce and maintain robust tender and live project programmes, carry out critical path and earned value analysis, and provide clear communication of programme performance to stakeholders.
The role involves close collaboration with project teams, risk and cost functions, and supply chain partners to develop realistic and achievable schedules that meet contractual requirements. The Senior Planner will also mentor junior planning staff and contribute to continuous improvement of planning processes and procedures.
Skills:
Expertise in developing functionally compliant programme content
Experience in Civil Engineering and/or energy projects
Ability to identify planning scope, constraints, and contract requirements
Advanced tender planning and strategic sequencing skills
Strong knowledge of design, procurement, and construction methodologies
Critical Path Analysis and Earned Value Management
Excellent communication and stakeholder management
Risk identification and mitigation within programmes
Mentoring and leadership of junior planners
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Proficient in planning software and tools

Job Description
Project Safety Lead - 12 months - 3 days Elgin, 5 days when commissioning or as needed - (Apply online only) per day inside IR35
The role is positioned in the Global Engineering team (Global Brand Supply Market) providing safety support to capex projects.
The Project Safety Lead role will be a direct link between the Lead Project Manager/ Project Engineers supporting all aspects of safety on the project.
The Project Safety Lead will build relationships with PC / Contractor / Subcontractors; and GE internal project teams.
The Project Safety Lead will also coach PC / Contractor / Subcontractors where necessary.
While the Project Safety Lead is there to support on construction safety for the GE project team, the Contractor will retain full responsibility and accountability for implementing safety on the project.
For this role this includes:
Skills:
Must have construction experience and have core competencies in managing safety in construction.
Supporting primarily on Cameronbridge site and Leven. Mechanical and Electrical project awareness is recommended.
Use their H&S specialist knowledge to support capex projects, working closely with Capex Project Engineers, Principal Contractors and contractors as described in the GE Engineering Safety Policy and guidance.
Support and attend start-up meetings and high-risk activities.
Support Project Engineer in risk assessment review.
Support the engineering team on providing visible safety leadership on projects (Boots on the ground)
Ensure Contractors and Subcontractors are working to expectations, standards, and values.
Facilitates safety workshops with contractors
Facilitates Site Impact Meeting with Project Managers / Engineers, PC / Contractors, and Site Operations
Participate and ensure daily Whiteboard meetings and toolbox talks are being carried out.
Reporting and Investigating project incidents and accidents supported by Project Engineer
Monitors effectiveness of contractor controls in line with GE Engineering Safety Policy and SFIP GRMS
Undertake inspection/audits/GEMBA walks throughout the life of the project.
Construction Safety Performance - support Project Engineer to monitor the safety performance and trends on weekly basis and course correct with Contractors.
Participate in the immediate corrective action walkdown
Education:
Degree preferable
Certications preferable
HAZOPS / Hazzards
