Job Description
Our client, a premier organization in the Leisure & Sports industry, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Leisure Centre Manager to oversee operations at their flagship facility. This role is based in Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear, UK , and offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing for both on-site leadership and remote strategic planning. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring exceptional customer experiences, and managing all aspects of the leisure centre, including staff, facilities, and financial performance. You will be a key figure in promoting health and wellness within the community.

- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the leisure centre, ensuring high standards of service and safety.
- Manage, motivate, and develop a team of staff, including fitness instructors, receptionists, and maintenance personnel.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to increase membership, program participation, and revenue.
- Manage budgets, control costs, and optimize financial performance.
- Ensure facilities and equipment are maintained to the highest standards, including implementing cleaning and safety protocols.
- Develop and promote a diverse range of fitness, sports, and recreational programs.
- Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints to ensure high levels of satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and licensing requirements.
- Manage marketing and promotional activities to attract new members and retain existing ones.
- Foster positive relationships with stakeholders, community groups, and local authorities.
- Proven experience in a management role within the leisure, sports, or hospitality industry.
- Demonstrable experience in staff management, financial management, and operational planning.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for sports, fitness, and community engagement.
- Relevant qualifications in Leisure Management, Sports Science, or Business Management are desirable.
- First Aid at Work certification is required.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Strong understanding of health and safety legislation within the leisure sector.
- Experience in marketing and business development within the leisure industry.
