Senior Care Assistant/Team Leader - Community Based
Annan & Dumfries
13.60 per hour + 40p per mile | Full-time or Part-time | Day Shifts | Sponsorship Not Available
A reputable care provider is currently seeking an experienced Senior Care Assistant/Team Leader to support service users in the community within the Annan and Dumfries areas. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive and committed team delivering person-centred care to individuals in their own homes.
What the role offers:
- Permanent contract - Full-time or Part-time hours available
- Competitive hourly rate of 13.60
- Paid mileage at 40p per mile when using your own vehicle
- Paid training and ongoing learning and development opportunities
- Flexible working hours and the opportunity to work within your local area

Responsibilities of a Senior Care Assistant:
- Delivering personal care and support to service users in the community
- Administering medication
- Supporting meal preparation and daily living tasks
- Supervising and supporting the staff team
- Leading quality assurance checks and carrying out risk assessments
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring effective communication
- Liaising with healthcare professionals and reporting to the Manager
- Taking the on-call phone as required
- Taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of the service in the absence of the Manager
- Promoting and ensuring the highest standard of care is delivered by the team
Requirements:
- SVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (required)
- SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (preferred or willingness to work towards)
- Full UK Driving Licence (required)
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a support environment
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Compassionate, reliable, and committed to making a difference
