Cartan Trade is the newest specialist in short-term trade credit insurance underwriting in France. On behalf of the insurer Scor , we underwrite B2B non-payment risks for companies of all sizes, both French and European.
Cartan Trade is also a fast-growing scale-up , shaking up the conventions of a traditional industry with a modern and agile approach , with already a presence in France, Italy, Netherlands and the UK.
Cartan Trade is currently recruiting for a Risk Underwriter to join our team in London. The successful candidate will be part of the Northern Europe Risk team, underwriting UK and export risks with the view to supporting Cartan Trade’s profitable growth.
Responsibilities:
Underwriting credit limits for clients and prospects, for whole turnover, top up or single risk enquiries
Analysing both public and private information about companies to set internal risk assessment & risk strategy
Meeting with buyers to collect financial and non-financial information
Attending meetings with brokers, prospects and clients
Contributing to the proactive monitoring of credit limits and sensitive buyers
Regularly liaise with the Commercial teams to discuss specific credit limits or buyers
Monitoring industry, economic and political trends, both in the UK and abroad
Preferred ExperienceMinimum 3 years’ experience in a credit analysis or risk underwriting role, ideally in credit insurance
Strong ability to analyse financial information and complex financial corporate structures, provide synthesis with the view to take underwriting decisions
Ability to communicate clearly with both internal and external partners
Proficient working knowledge of MS Office
Degree standard of education preferred, ideally in a business, economics or financial discipline
