Clymac’s Fire & Security Engineers
Our engineers maintain fire and security systems in line with current standards and customer requirements. The successful engineer will contribute to the team, strive to deliver world-class customer service, and will be rewarded for doing so.
- Maintain Fire & Security Systems in your assigned area.
- Respond to service calls on all types of Fire and Security systems in line with current standards and customer requirements.
- Plan and respond to routine and re-active call visits in your area.
- Maintain effective communication with customers when planning site visits.
- Maintain your stock levels with support from your team leader
- Attend training sessions as and when required.
- Attend Engineering team meetings as and when required.
- Identify any personal training and development needs to help you provide the best possible customer service.

The Information Security Engineer will be responsible for providing engineering design, analysis, and support for security controls in the enterprise. They will be responsible for the collection, processing, preservation, analysis, and presentation of evidence in support of vulnerability mitigation and information security incident investigations. Engineers will proactively seek out indicators of compromise to track threats and campaigns aimed at our company.
Main Responsibilities:
● Researches, designs, and implements information security solutions for organization systems and products that comply with all applicable security policies and standards
● Analyzes and makes recommendations to improve the security posture of network, system, cloud, and application architectures
● Assists in the review and update of information security policies, architectures, and standards
● Facilitates and performs penetration tests, vulnerability assessments, and responses to audits
● Maintains incident response plans and processes to coordinate efforts among multiple business units during security incident response efforts

Requirements
● 2-8 years of relevant experience

The role will lead initiatives to integrate security at every phase of the development lifecycle, ensuring the robustness and compliance of our applications and infrastructure. **Key Responsibilities:**
**COTS Application Updates:** Support the update process for Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) applications, ensuring compatibility and security.
**Vulnerability Scanning:** Conduct regular assessments of environments to identify vulnerabilities.
**Security Definition Updates:** Manage and update security definitions across our platforms to protect against emerging threats.

Endpoint Security:
+ Endpoint Protection: perform regular updates to Endpoints to ensure the latest packages are applied and policies are amended to keep up to date with new and emerging threats.
+ Antivirus and Anti-malware Protection: perform compliance checks to ensure that antivirus and anti-malware protection is deployed successfully and being kept up to date by the relevant team.
+ Network Controls: perform compliance checks and regular audits of network controls (i.e. firewall rules) to ensure that unauthorised access and threats are being blocked.
+ Access Control: ensuring that access controls have been implemented correctly to only allow authorised users to gain access to certain data and systems.
Incident Management & Tickets:
+ Incident Identification: help to recognise and confirm potential incidents through alerts, logs and user reports. This includes distinguishing between true threats and false positives.
+ Incident Response: respond to potential security breaches or cyber-attacks. The main effort should focus on containment, mitigating the damage, investigation of the root cause of the incident and restoring to normal operations.
+ Ticket Requests: respond to and resolve any tickets raised to the Leidos Security group on SD+ that require Cyber Security Engineering input.
System Hardening:
+ Patch Updates to Security Products: ensure that the security tool sets are kept up to date with regular security patches and software updates to fix vulnerabilities and improve system security.
+ System Compliance: perform regular system compliance audits and updates to ensure that the systems are compliant with industry best practices. This includes CIS, STIG, NIST etc.
+ Security Enforcing Function Configuration: Assist in the design, reviews and updates to security enforcing functions (i.e. GPOs or System Policies) and system controls to ensure that they are compliant and fit for purpose.
+ Vulnerability Assessments: conduct periodic assessments to identify and address potential vulnerabilities.
Change Work:
+ Security Impact Triage Tool (SITT): Assist in evaluation and impact assessment of system change to security posture of the environments.
+ Security Evaluation, Testing and Assurance (ST&V): perform Security, Evaluation, Testing and Assurance activities for any new changes that are planned in as part of PI Planning.
Participation in Regular Meetings:
Cyber Security Engineers are expected to lead or attend numerous meetings that require their input. This may include the following depending on work activity.

Our client base is predominantly built of prestigious buildings and landmarks, such as high-end hotels, stadia and education establishments in and around Greater London. Our Fire & Security Engineers
Take responsibility for maintaining Fire & Security systems in line with customer requirements and current standards. They deliver a first-class customer service to our valued clients ensuring that work is completed to an exceptional standard.
Our Apprentices
The core focus of the role is to assist in routine maintenance / installation of small works, call-outs and standby on Intruder, CCTV, Access control and Fire Alarms. (All Apprentices will be accompanied by a Qualified Engineer until deemed competent to operate as a lone worker).
Apprentices will be required to work alongside a competent Engineer and assist with the following duties.
- Maintaining fire alarm, access control, CCTV and intruder alarm systems to the highest standards, representing the engineering face of Marlowe Fire & Security Group.
- Carrying out routine services of fire and intruder alarm systems.
- Provide detailed information to enable accurate quoting of chargeable works.
- Maintain impeccable conduct and deliver the highest standard of customer service.
- Keep concise and accurate records of work completed.
- Complete your Fire & Security Systems Qualification.
Your Qualification and Course
- To become a full-qualified Fire & Security Engineer, your will learn both on the job, whilst studying across a 3-year course.
- The educational course operates in block releases, 1 week for each block release.
- There will be 14 block releases across the 3-year period where you will attend college during those weeks.
- To complete your Level 3 End Point Assessment (EPA), you will be required to pass a theory and practical exam
